1963, F700 question continues..
Also, would the inner fenders, door glass, radiator support and hood be the same size or fit as the regular f100-350 size trucks of that year?
thank again

I noticed your 2nd post (#724) before your 1st (#723), so I'll decode the info later today. The following took a bit of research.

Door, vent glass and windshield is the same: 1961/66 F100/1100; 1963/69 N/NT500/1100; 1967/69 F800/1000.

Back glass is the same as the above except for 1961/63 F100/250 Uni's with the wrap around window (most don't have it).

Radiator support is the same: 1961 F700/750 from serial number 170,001, 1962/63 F700/750.

Inner fender aprons are the same: 1961/65 F100/250 4WD; 1961/66 F350/700 & B500/750 (School Bus); 1966 F250 4WD

Hood is the same: 1961/64 B500/750 (School Bus); 1961/66 F100/700; 1965/66 B500/700 (School Bus).

1964

F70MU470942 / WB: 156 / COLOR: Blank* / MODEL: F704 / BODY: 181B / TRANS: W / AXLE: E / MAX GVW LBS: 25500 / CERT NET HP: 160 / RPM: 3800 / DSO: 720184
F70 = F700 (gas).

M = 330 2V H/D FT engine (introduced in 1964, there was no 'M' VIN engine code for 1961/63).

U = Louisville KY Assembly Plant.

470942 = 1964 Numerical Sequence of Assembly, the trucks specific serial number.

(1963 serial number range: 325,001-445,000 // 1964 serial number range: 445,001-580,000).

156" Wheelbase.

COLOR: Blank*

F702 = F700 (gas); 25,500 lbs. GVWR

181A: 1 = Silver Gray Crush Vinyl & Light Gray Rib Vinyl / 81A = Standard Cab.

W = Clark model 2621-V1 or 2622-V1 5 Speed Direct Manual Transmission.

E = Timken model R141 Rear Rear Axle / 5.57-1 / 34,000 lbs. Axle Capacity.

25,500 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

160 net HP @ 3,800 RPM

720184:

72 = San Jose (NorCal) Ford District Sales Office, where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

0184 = Domestic Special Order number, truck ordered special by the original purchaser, not "bought off the lot."

*When there is no COLOR code stamped on the Warranty Plate, truck painted a non standard color per the original purchasers order. This makes it a Domestic Special Order.

Note: Compare this VIN that is stamped on the Warranty Plate to the VIN on the registration/title to see if they match.

1963/66: Warranty Plate riveted to the left door face below the latch.

People replaced damaged left doors with used doors. 99.9% of the time, they failed to install the original Warranty Plates on the replaced doors.

Note: If this is a 1964, I'll have to change the radiator support info.

Bill, I have just posted a few pictures of the F700 in question. The vin tag and title do match. Perhaps the special order also included the motor?
Thank you

The 330 2V H/D FT engine was an option, but it was an RPO (Regular Production Order).

If the engine was a DSO, there would be no VIN engine code.

I've never seen any example of this occurring with any of the 100's of VIN's I've decoded over the past 11 years here on FTE

Note: Post #728: That's a 1964 Warranty Plate (VIN decodes to a 1964), and the pictured truck has a 1964 grille.

Pink slip: Year first sold: 1963. This is probably correct, because new vehicle production begins in August of the previous year, but the year model 1963 isn't correct and it also says YR: 1971.

Hey Number Dummy,

You helped me with some part numbers and information on my 1970 C700.

Hoping you can point me in the right direction here. I want to swap rear-ends on my C700, it currently has a rockwell. I'd like to find something that I can get a tall ratio so I can run 65 or 70mph. It has a 6.8:1 in it now. Maybe an Eaton, then find an aftermarket ring and pinion kit?? Your thoughts?????

Thank you in advance,
Randy

Four Vin decodes, please, thank you.

I have two trucks, with the possibility of getting two more. I would greatly appreciate it if you could decode them all for me.

Would you type 4 individual posts with one picture in each please. The way you did it makes it hard to decode properly.
