Any Ohioans on here take their camper up to Maine? I will be taking my family to Old Orchard Beach June 10th to 17th. Just curious if anyone knew how the drive there was. I have a 05 with the V10 and this will be our first long tow.
Been there done that. We took the 2 lane roads everywhere east of Albany, cut across VT and NH to avoid Bahstun. Lot's of hills!

We went to Acadia a couple years ago. Essentially, our trip was:
Cincinnati, Delaware Water Gap, Mystic, Cape Cod, Salem then up the coast to Maine. Came back across the White Mountains (New Hampshire/Vermont, then down through Gettysburg, and back across to Ohio. First leg was mostly highway, if you want to call whatever godforsaken construction zone of a highway from Pittsburgh to Delaware Water Gap a highway. It seriously sucked. Rest of the trip was pretty uneventful. It was kind of neat to go across from Delaware Water Gap past NYC (not through) on the way to New Haven/Mystic. Tons of driving, but a ton of fun too!
Last week I decided to do something with my large leveling blocks. They originally travelled in the front pass- through, but I hated putting them in there wet. Then they moved to the small aluminum box I put on the back of the camper, but they took up too much space in there. I decided to make a bracket to hang them under the camper . I made it to hang from the bolts that hold the steps onto the frame. I bought a short piece of 3/4" tube at the farm store, but the rest was made from scraps I had hanging around. I'm so happy with it, I think I will make one for the small leveling blocks.
We are up in the White Mountains for the long weekend. The blocks are visible in front of the steps @ our Wallyworld stop for supplies.

That is a really great idea and looks perfectly built! Great job!
I don't recall running over any hogs, where is this you speak of?
Hogback Mountain is in south western Vermont not too far out of Albany, NY. There are runaway truck ramps east and west of Hogback. There is, or at least was, a ski area there. I'm not sure I'd dare take my TT through there. It would have been your most direct route from Albany toward Maine.

That is a great mod, those kind are the most satisfying for me because you use them every time you setup and take down and they add useable real estate to the camper.
Rear Observation camera opinions/experiences. My new trailer has the Furrion wire prep for an observation camera, but it seems the cheapest one with the smaller (4.3") screen is $400. I am seeing that several other companies now sell their cameras with adapter brackets for the Furrion setup. I am wondering who has which camera and what are the opinions? I have the RVS wireless rechargeable and portable unit that I have made a bracket for on the inside of mate trailer, but it seems the new trailer is too long for the signal to carry effectively 100% of the time, and it is no good at night as the night vision LEDs turn on and reflect in the window.
I picked up a 4 channel 7" display to use with the 4 cameras I have installed on my 24' enclosed car trailer. 1 camera on the back, one each side over the tandem wheels (roof level) and 1 inside so I can watch the cargo. I had a rear wireless and had extended the transmitter to the front of the trailer (antenna stuck out of a clearance marker light hole) but suffered constant interference and disconnects.

I personally can't recommend the Furrion having used it for a couple seasons. If you have nothing else I guess it's ok, but my older eyes don't like the tiny display. Keep us posted on what route you go if you find something larger and more useful!
The RV park we had scheduled for tailgating at the Jimmy Buffett concert this Thursday is flooded. They moved everyone to a street outside the flood wall. No electricity or water. I sanitized my fresh water tank. I have a generator that should run the AC and 10 gallons of gas for Wed night through Friday morning. Any other suggestions? Oh, and it will probably rain the whole time.
Finallly made it out for a short trip, Maumee Bay state park. Sites are tight for my taste, but they do have a hedge between every site giving you decent privacy.
New flag pole mod. The pole came from China via Amazon, telescoping aluminum, cheap. A piece of 2" PVC for the base, a few clamps and some black spray paint.
