I put the 31' TT away last fall but apparently didn't get the awning dry enough before bringing it it.
I heard that tire whitewall cleaner will get rid of the mold/dark spots underneath the awning. If this is true, is there any particular brand (and larger quantity) I can buy to get this done properly and quickly?
I have used foaming bathroom cleaner on the tough stuff, old clothes and a warm day are your friend.
My Bride found that Tilex bathroom cleaner took all but the worst little bit of grung off the underside of our awning, old clothes, step ladder, pole mounted truck brush and the hose.
In and on boats scrubbing bubbles works well, krud kutter, baking soda and white vinegar, peroxide, etc. If you have pink mold that's almost impossible to get out. Acetone helps remove oil and most stains, but be careful and don't pour acetone directly on vinyl. Use sparingly with lots of clean cloths. Must put a vinyl conditioner on after wards.
DW informs me last year that being in our trailer is like being in a boat at sea. I’m not small, and apparently not light on my feet either. X-chocks didn’t do anything to help.
I looked into the options out there and settled on the Steadyfast system. http://www.steadyfast.com. Seemed well designed and had good reviews.
Ordered a system for my trailer and tried installing it a few weeks ago. I found that the drop frame up front in my trailer made the front/back stabilizer impossible to install. After tossing around a few possible solutions, I went with the simplest version...an offset plate. 1/4” thick steel 3”x5”. Bolt the plate to the I-beam frame, then bolt the clamp bracket to the plate. Worked like a champ! Install was relatively simple after that, except it was 98 degrees that day.
Wife loves it! I find that the large “ocean wave” movement in the trailer is gone. There are still smaller vibrations, but all in all it is a great mod.
It's only $99, so I ordered it. I have watched all the videos and it looks promising. Read the reviews on Amazon and only a few have problems/issues. Overall most are happy with it. They even have the WD option working now. I'm going to install the app on my in-dash head unit as well as my phone. The best part so far is that it does not get married to your vin, so you are free to move it from vehicle to vehicle.

Keep us posted please. I tow a lot and interested in the real world results.
The Haul Gauge arrived on time from Amazon today. I installed the App on my Android phone and dongle on my ODBII connector. Started the Ex up and the app found the dongle. I was asked to enter my VIN, manually or it would scan it from the sticker on the front door frame. No problem there, it scanned in except the Haul Gauge app states my VIN is invalid. I pulled my registration and verified the scan was correct, and it was. So I went to my Android 7 Head unit and searched for the Haul Gauge app in the play store, and it is not even showing as available. I've emailed all the info into the Haul Gauge support address and will wait to see what type of response I get.
I just went back out to re-create the "Invalid VIN" message again, but the app accepted the VIN scan this time. So that issue is solved.
It then did inform me that there is no profile on file for my vehicle, a 2004 Excursion, so I proceeded to enter the values requested. I then did the calibration process, starts accelerating up to 15 mph with various throttle positions. I then decided to check the vehicle load option and things went a little funny.
When asked to open the rear hatch the dial zeroed itself. I then stood on the rear bumper and it stated ~ 350 lbs had been added. I am only 205 lbs. I noted it was asking for the load to be placed over the rear axel, so I got off and noticed the dial had now gone negative by what might be 100 - 200 lbs. I entered the vehicle and sat in the back seat, the closest thing to being over the rear axel, and the dial went to zero.
I will re-preform this test tomorrow, but something does seem to be off.
I did get a response from Tech Support, but they seemed to be confused about the Invalid VIN message. That is why I was trying to re-create it. They state the app will work on Android phones with ver 6 and up, and some tablets. They state my Head Unit is more like a tablet, so they will not guarantee it to work on it.
We are in this nearly empty national forest campground in KY at the moment. 20 sites in this loop with 3 occupied, us in a corner, another couple in a different corner, and the camp host by the entrance. So which site do some new people take today? Yes, let's camp next to these people since they look so lonely all by themselves.
