For many years now I thought about installing a front hitch to allow easier maneuvering of the TT in tight campground spaces. I was disappointed to find that all of the available brands that mount up behind the bumper to the frame by the tow loops only have a 5000lb gross/500lb TW limit. I'm not sure how it would fare with an 11K trailer even for limited use. Anyone using one of these to move a heavy trailer around and have any issues?

I use the draw rite brand from etrailer to push/pull my TT in and out of our driveway as it is a tight turn and avoids the added strain on the transmission of being in reverse with a heavy load up hill. Draw tite I rated 500 TW and 9000 total load. My TT is 7500 and right at 1000lb tongue but I like having the ProPride now as I can use weight distribution with the front so I don’t have the full direct tongue weight on the hitch. 3 seasons of camping and it hasn’t fallen off yet 😉.
one caveat is front hitch requires removal of front fogs if you have them.
Interesting program, never heard of it before. So says the relic from the paper map days.
It is a very recent development actually, it wasn’t four years ago we were still using paper charts in the planes, since then the entire military and commercial aviation industry has adopted this program. Very useful for flight and also a great tool for spending time in the back country .
Spent some time over Father's Day weekend camping/fishing with my boys and some family friends. Only had to drive about 15min south to get lakeside, but made 2 trips so that I could also have my boat. Loaded up my 800lb ATV and the rear end of the Ex didn't squat an inch. I definitely need to do some more suspension work because this thing is still rough riding. I'm heading out again a week from today to Washington, so I've got a few projects planned. Will be replacing the factory stereo in the Jayco for better bluetooth connectivity when watching movies on our projector. Also upgraded the connections for my solar setup so that I don't have to deal with screwing down wiring...its all plug-n-play now. Lastly, the Ex is getting a new thermostat and a re-gear. Don't like my temp gauge hitting 225F when using a 195F thermostat. Bled it upon install but also had a professional evacuation and coolant flush with the same results. Time to swap it out for a 180F. As for the gears, I'm trading out the 3.73s for 4.30s in the rear on Monday. Will do the front after we get back into town. Hoping that I'll finally have the pulling power I'm supposed to. My Jayco isn't all that heavy, but I can't climb anything around here without having to drop into 2nd gear to keep 60mph. The 5 Star and their y-pipe helped a little, but I'm hoping for a night/day difference with the gears. A few pics from last weekend...
Last week I added a Stromberg Carlson bunk ladder to the bunk beds. Our niece is camping with us for part of our July vacation, so I figured I'd make it easier on her. We leave July 3rd for the White Mountains here in NH, and don't come back until the 14th. Really looking forward to it !
We came through the White Mountains on our trip out east to Maine a couple years back. Super cool area and I'd love to spend some real time there. The people were super nice too!!
Eric, it's a shame that you couldn't have gotten a campsite closer to the river with a decent view.
That looks pretty darned awesome! . Where exactly is that and is it full hookup?
