This is from our trip to Yellowstone last year. averaged 7.6 mpg over 3800 miles! I love it when Diesel Super C`s cant pass you in the mountains!

This was from Jersey City NJ at Liberty Harbor. a bit tight but still cool to be this close to Manhattan! and a nice view of Lady Liberty!

We left some water for you Copsey.

Much appreciated. We are heading to Conley Bottom also. Friends are bringing boats so we'll have a good time for sure.

Staying at a local campground this weekend. Had a great late night by the fire but the 6am wake up was a little rough, still have to work today and tomorrow but the rest of the weekend will be nice if not a little warm.

Good deal or pass? Seems a little "worn" to me...good price?

Thanks

I would try for $700. As you may need a new stinger for your particular trailer/truck hitch height. Everything else can be repaired/replaced easily and cheap!

Maybe not a bad deal, the fixed hitch bar sucks in my opinion but it is what it is.
I would just make damn sure to inspect it very well around the weight bar sockets for cracks/stretching and the same thing around the entrance in the front for the stinger. Hensley will require you to buy a warranty to repair it and it will go rapidly up in price.

My preference is the 3P as it doesn't have any of the drawbacks or weakness and has upgraded parts in other areas.

Our old TH had the regular solid equalizers and didn't ride nearly as smooth as the TT with the cushioned equalizers does, a nice upgrade in my opinion. Get the shackle and wet bolt kit too!
Cool, thanks.

Art, the HAs do get pretty weathered looking due to the crappy paint/powder they used. They are easy to pull apart and repaint while you clean and repack the bearings prior to installation. What will you be using it on?

Agreed, always try to beat them down some! Use that weathered finish as a bargaining chip. Does it have the correct spring bars for your intended use? Do the measuring recommended by Hensley to figure if the stinger is the correct drop/rise for your Ex and trailer, my Ex and both trailers have all worked well with the same 4" stinger. Ensure that the frame brackets for the screw jacks and strut bars is the correct design for your style of trailer frame and ball mount location (top ball mount, middle, or low mount), I needed new mid mount brackets on the Jayco TT.

Yes, closely inspect the black lower hitch head for any cracks or distortion around the sockets for the spring bars, expect to buy new bushings for the bars as they are a wear item. A new lower hitch head will be $700-ish, so inspect it closely! I can see a little wear in the orange head where the strut bars get pinned, typical wear there and an easy fix if it's worn enough to worry about.

Finished up my 2000mi three week journey on Wednesday. That last day of towing was in torrential rain and wind. I was probably going a bit fast, but was passed by a Ford dually going very fast. 20 seconds later saw him at the edge of my visibility plow into the cable median. I stopped to see if he was ok...he was. New looking F450 delivering a new RV to a customer. Trailer for sure totaled. Truck maybe totaled. The trailer swung around enough to hit the side of the truck.

I took this pic when I got back to my truck.

Ouch! It pays to take your time.

Sitting by the fire on the first dry night of this trip. Here are some pics from the top of Roan Mtn. We hiled up the Balds on the AT for a couple of miles. We also went to the Roan **** lookout, foggy and a wet trail.

Worker. He looked pretty nervous about the call he was about to make.

Long Range WiFi Antenna

I know I will take some flak for this. Camping is for unplugging, put the tablet down, yadda yadda yadda. But in my quest to keep from spending considerably more on an unlimited data plan, I added a WiFi antenna on a home made mast to the camper this week. Tongue braket I made from scraps of steel I had leftover from other projects. Cost was $0.

The mast is something I dreamed up, made of PVC ($8), and a 4 - 8 ft. extendable paint roller handle ($17).

The actual antenna was part of a kit that I would not recommend to anyone.... though the actual antenna seems to work really well, at least, here in my driveway. I went from having five WiFi networks strong enough to connect to.. to 26 !!

First real world test is in one week.

From roof level in the rear to show how well it clears the A/C unit fully extended.

No flack from me, camping is whatever you choose to do for whatever you are doing wherever you choose to do it, there are no rules other than to have a good relaxing time away from home and the everyday grind. Whether you are backpacking along a trail or staying at a deluxe resort in a 45' Class A I'm jealous that you are out there doing it while I'm stuck here at work or home buried under a honey-do list. Of course, at this point in life, I'm a little more jealous of the folks in the Motorhome, tenting was fun when we were younger, but these days we do like our "camping" to be comfy!
That looks like a very clever setup and seems to be pretty effective from your initial test, looking forward to hear how it does out in the wild (or at least in a CG!).
