Congrats! Since you are writing a book, that would make the helmet, badges and even the truck a tax deduction!

Every time I read one of your updates to this saga, my heart aches a little bit. You are doing a fantastic job with this truck, and I will buy your book. Keep up the good work. And thank you.

Guys, I am totally blown away here. I just got off the phone with the consignor and she told me the badges were in a glass case. There was a tag on the case which said donated by Kenneth Kinsch, which was my grandfathers nephew!!!!

There is no doubt the badges are my grandfathers!! I am really in shock here now that I have confirmation. My family is so excited. I know everyone was rooting for me and I can't believe it really happened ..... thanks again!!!

Okay now get back out in the shop and bolt on some more shinny stuff. You have most everything to get it done now don't you?

Thanks guys!! The badges will be in the mail tomorrow!!

arctic ... I ordered some premium UV varnish on ebay and as soon at it arrives it will be applied to the deck. I went out the other day and spent a couple of hours just cleaning parts. Still waiting for the shop to fix the rails. I called the other day and they said it was on the schedule for the day so it should be done next week.

Good things happen to good people! I'm so glad that you were able to work out a deal and thats really great that they turned out to be your grandfathers. What an amazing coincidence.

I'll tip a frosty beverage in your direction

Chuck,

Thanks again for all your advice on the phone the other day. You always have the answers to all my questions and I really appreciate it!!

I picked up some Krylon True Blue paint today.

Thanks Bobby, I had another sleepless night awaiting her answer. But last night I slept like a baby!!

What would be cool is for you to find a period correct uniform that your grandfather would have worn, attach the badge and wear the helmet while driving the truck in parades.

Joe, sorry I forgot to give you the color code. Yes that's it, True Blue!!

Ilya, I plan on doing exactly what you mentioned and take some pics too. Some black/white shots would be cool.

OK, so that's hilarious! Ten years ago, I got my Harley painted... wait for it... True Blue. No wonder I like that FORD logo color so much.

And the funny thing is, when I brought the tanks and fenders home from the painter, THEN I noticed that it was an almost exact match to my wife's 94 Mustang GT convertible.

Did I mention I like blue? Sorry for the hijack.
