The cure to that burnt up fuse is run heavier cable, 97-03 f150s have a larger cable and a megafuse with holder you can grab from a junkyard. I run something similar on my f250 for the glow plug relay, it's 250 amps, does fine. If that's the 130 amp 3g, they put out a max Amperage of over 150, I swapped on in as well.

I think the wire I was using was larger than the factory wiring would have had on the 93 Taurus, because I cut the harness to bring home with me. Since it never blew the fuse I'm assuming all the amps it took to melt that wire were not going through the fuse to the battery, I'm wondering if instead the connection was bad or exposed (and I didn't have it tie wrapped down good either) and maybe it fell against the inner or battery tray and just ran all those amps straight to ground. But now I put fresh 6 gauge cables on it and ran it to a circuit breaker, hopefully won't have any trouble. Although now as I write this I remembering doing something similar with the Mazda pickup 302 conversion I did for my friend, and the underhood heat affected it and made it really easy to trip the breaker. This may be something I wind up circling back around too in a couple of months.

That looks like of those audio fuses, the ones you get from autozone next to the gold plated terminals, fuzzy dice and chrome plated windshield wipers
This is the one on mine. Should charge better too.

Yeah I got it off ebay but it probably is designed for audio applications. Nonetheless the fuse was rated for 120. I like yours, weatherproof container.

So the 500 has had a "clank" since I got it that has consistently gotten worse. So I finally got around to changing the primary clutch on it... looks like its a good thing I did.

There was 7 cracks around it... plus it had about 1/2" of side play where it shouldn't have any. So got a new primary clutch and belt installed. With the best help I could ever ask for.

Got the cover back on just got to bolt the plastics back on it tomorrow and do some riding. Looks like we are going to take a trip to a place in Elizabethtown this weekend called Cape Fear ATV park.

Finally got the frame stripped down/cleaned up to bare metal to finally repaint it.

Unfortunately it decided to rain while i was building the "stand" out of the old cannoli car port to hang it from and paint it.

got trapped in the shed for about 20 mins waiting for it to quit and the lightning to stop...

But got it hung up and primed.

Now my motorcycle lift looks empty 😞 well kinda 🤣😂🤣😂

Spent a few hours in the garage on the truck.
I fitted the shifter boots to the pan.
Bent the over drive stick a little, maybe to much, so I don't have to reach out for it when shifting.

Then worked on installing the carpet I got from John. Thing was I had the carpet under the seat, no help to remove, and had to fit the OD stick in then the pan fish the transmission stick thru the boot and carpet and into the trans.
Once the 2 sticks were where they needed to be I could screw down the 2 shifter boots and then trim the carpet to fit under the last lip of the boots.
Used shop air to blow any left over dirt & trim parts out and put the mats that Dustin gave me.

Took the truck for a test drive and it is like a new truck it is so quite. Just need to get the AC parts together so I can get it working, it's getting to hot to drive it now.

Thanks guys

Hey you put that carpet to good use, I'm happy it came out good for you!

I did some work on the LUV, the flange came in finally but the bolt pattern still wasn't right. Two holes line up, not all 4. It's not a square pattern, it's rectangular pattern. But after paying for 2 and both being wrong I decided to stop throwing parts at it and just got out the drill! After redrilling 2 holes and getting it mounted, I was finally able to mock everything up and get a driveshaft measurement - 49-1/4 inches. Went by Stone Heavy and talked to Tim, he said no problem. Then the next day he called me and said he can't find an end that will match the Toyota flange, so he has to send it to the other shop in Greensboro to have it made. Hopefully won't end up being too expensive.

Glad those mats are being used, probably had them in the garage buried under spare parts for 4 or 5 years. Ended up working on the sport Trac this weekend, did a leveling kit (torsion keys) lower ball joints and found a bad wheel bearing and axle seal. I think the front end should be in pretty good shape now. Had to loosen the bolts to lower the front end from what it initially was because it was too high for the shocks and had a sharp angle on the cv axles. Been meaning to work on the f250, but it's next. Need to find the intermittent brake shudder/shimmy

Well did a little tinkering on the 4 wheelers today. Polaris is setup where you have to press a override button to get over 3k rpm in reverse (because it is a CVT itll go as fast in reverse as forward) however it also cuts out 4wd in reverse. That absolutely sucks when you're trying to rock it and can't turn up in reverse or have 4wd cause you got to hold a button.

So I started out wiring up a relay as I found on a polaris forum. However that somehow made my fuel gauge disappear, and I couldn't scroll through my hours/miles and so on any more (you used the same button as to over ride reverse) so I did some digging and swapped some wires around. Ended up getting it where it only activates the relay when 4wd is engaged, which is all I really need. Now I have full throttle and 4wd while backing up (when 4wd is locked in.)

Then I moved over to the 500, I ended up ordering a used oem Polaris clutch, and new oem Polaris belt after the last setup was a dud. So started the break in period on it today. Got around 4.5 miles of moderate/slow down/speed up easily riding in low gear, few more and it should be good to go.

The over drive is in and working, took it to work 1 day but it has been to hot to drive it unless I have to like the weekly trash runs.

Yesterday I used Car Parts.com to look up the AC compressor and 2 yards close list 1 each.
I will take tools with me to work and if I get out early will hit them to see what I can get.
I would like to get the compressor with motor brackets if I can for extras, hoses & dryer.
I want the hoses & dryer mostly to see how they fit as I think the dryer will not fit my evap so if I have used parts I might be able to come up with something that will work ....... I hope!

Today I worked on the sun visors. I bought a set from LMC a while back as both sets I have were hurting, they only come in black.
I used the set from my truck, the parts truck has a over head storage rack with visors so I left them together, they were also in little better shape.

Beside only coming in black they done come with the rod / mount so you have to reuse the old one.
Well what a job trying to pull them out! Once out I looked them over to see what it would take to tighten one of them up. That was the hardest part. I first tried to shim the spring by cutting flat washer and fitting either under or in the coils and could see this was not going to work.

I had to take it all apart then figure a way to hold it all back together. The factory has a peened over end holding a washer & spring, etc in place. At first I tapped the end for 5/16 threads but the end is just a little to small and the nut did not grab it to good. The center was somewhat hollow so I tried tapping it for 1/4-20 but not having a finishing tap I could not go to far in but got enough to help hold the nut in place.

With that tight I started putting the rod in the first visor and after fighting it about half way I saw I started it from the wrong side! Got that straighten out and the rods in both visors.
To bad I did not have black inside as they looked damn good so I prepped them for SEM paint to match the rest of the panels inside. I used almost a full can to cover both visors and think it could have used a little more but it was 96* in the garage and I was done for the day!

Well almost done as I looked over my broken A pillar parts, I am missing 1 some where? Will check my parts bins but I don't remember putting the 1 in there and the other 3 on my work table in the work shop side. I think I can glue them back together to get the shape needed for mounting then coat them in fiber glass rosin to make them stronger. I will then use spray can spray on bed liner for texture and them paint color to match.
I will also look when in the junk yard to see what shape that truck might be in.

I will mount the visors in a day or 2, want them to dry really good before I start putting my grubby hands on them. Then maybe I can look into mounting the mirror. I wanted to make sure the visors cleared it.
It was to hot for pictures but will before / after mounting.

Looking forward to pics, Dave! I have done jack-squat in the past week, just too hot to get out in the sun. I am thinking about getting a 10x20 storage space at Reedy Creek and parking my Mustang there, then I could put the 83 inside the garage and at least then it won't be in the direct sunlight all day. I can work on it a little in the garage even when its hot but not in the driveway.
