The truck is looking GOOD! Bummer on the head gasket though...

I think it's because when you pull the injectors you pull the back one first so all the extra oil will drain into that one piston, that way you don't have to clean the oil out of all the them. Just mainly one and a little in the others (if you aren't pulling the heads off).
Unfortunately Ross, I was thinking the same thing. Got it all buttoned up and the terminator pumps installed. Have pics, but don't wanna load them right now. Gonna take a break this afternoon and take the wife to the cookoff and dance we are normally at every year. I'll be back in the shop tonight prolly around 1 or 2am to finish the motor up. Depending how much help I have and how I feel, maybe get it back in the truck before daylight. Then I gotta sleep and go back to work for 3 grueling days. Then back on the truck Wed. Hopefully my clutch will be ready and it's go time. Oh, I gotta fab out my custom intake spider and hood stack too. THE TRUCK GOES NOWHERE WITHOUT A HOOD STACK!!!
Personally I think you are better off having brand new head gaskets cuz would you rather change it now or in th truck between pulls? I'm jus sayin you got it outa the way. if you had done like your better judgement and done it one or 2 studs at a time and you blew a headgasket you never woulda known if it was a compromised seal. Now you know you are doing it right.
I hope that makes you feel a little better ;-)
Looks like you got a great crew there making the best of a momentary setback. One or 2 good hot retorque's and that valve train's ready to go!
Is this gonna have a CAC cooler? If so send me a PM I want to share an idea with you for simple cooler EGT'S. It's just an unproven idea yet. You can decide if it's worth a try
Jack, no intercooler. And my spyder that I want to build is gonna be crazy. But I'm all ears if you wanna use me as a sounding board. It's 1:20am, we just got home. Carl and I are headed to the shop to see if we can get the fuel and turbo setup. We won't put it in the truck. We have been in the dam wind at a street dance all night. That's all the wind I want. But we should have it ready to go in the truck Wed. I'll post pics later if I haven't fallen asleep on my feet. Cross your fingers.
Terminator pumps installed, and TURBO!!!!!!!!!!!! I won't lie, Carl and I got out in the shop and got the turbo installed, then gawked at it for about 45min. Then decided to start in on the regulated return setup. Well, I didn't get instuctions with it because it's custom setup for my OBS setup. Well, we fumbled with it for a little while and decided we better look up some pics. Well, we came inside and sat down..................BYE BYE GUSTO!!! That was it, we decided to hang it up for the day. So this is where we are now. We'll be back on it Wednesday. For now, I gotta go earn money and stuff..........work sucks. LOL

believe it or not old head gaskets bond them selves to the head and block so they will actually hold up better than a new gasket. for example if you have ever pulled the heads off an engine with a lot a miles on it you probably had to pry it off with a big bar. but if you take one of an relatively new engine they will basically lift off.
wow.... that is one gorgeous motor you have there Cody. When is the deadline that you are trying to reach? And when you deleted the blower motor and heater box and all that fun stuff on the passenger side firewall what thickness sheet metal did you use and did you seal it up with silicone and then just sheet metal screw it to the firewall? Thank you.
