Purchased a 2004 Excursion with 6.0 with approx 160k miles a couple of months back. It had cold start issues but ran fine once it warmed up. Hadn't really had any issues since the weather has warmed up until a few days ago. Real rough start accompanied by some smoke, then the normal once it warmed up it seemed to run alright on my way to work.
Went to leave at lunch and wouldn't start. Got it towed home and checked the codes, showing injector codes and p0611 for the FICM. Also showing code for crankshaft position sensor (p0336) didn't know if one could be causing the other...
While checking the FICM the voltage drops to 19 for a second or two and then comes back up to 48 and I didn't know if this was normal for the sudden drop after cycling to ON or if this means it is bad...any help is appreciated!

I would recommend you start with the FICM . More specifically talk to Shannon at ficmfixer dot com, if you are in the Dallas area he will do same day drop off service. The site has basic instructions for testing but you can always speak with him directly and explain your test results to confirm if there is indeed a problem. In addition , if you are an Android user, pick up an elm 327 Bluetooth obd diagnostic tool from amazon, with an Android phone and torque app you can monitor, diagnose, clear codes etc it's a great tool for under $20 and will save you a lot of time and headaches trying to sort out issues.

If your FICM is dropping to 19 volts - even for a second - it is bad. Your crankshaft position sensor code is likely caused by the lack of immediate start, meaning that I wouldn't worry about it.
Given that you have a bad FICM, the larger question is why. I'd strongly suggest pulling your alternator(s) and batteries and have them bench tested to verify that they remain okay.
If you can't afford to be down, we can set you up with a FICM on exchange that is pre-programmed and ready to drop in.
03 6.0 hard start when running it has zero throttle response rough idle push pedal down nothing I’ve replaced ipr Icp throttle control (gas pedal) ficm harness tested ficm 48v key on and while running these symptoms started slowly no power going up hills and just got worse to the point didn’t want to start when it did start only idle put in drive won’t move stalls any help on where to go next don’t want to buy ficm when maybe Hpop vise versa .

Do you have any way to "live" monitor the engine via the obd port? If so you should be able to monitor the high pressure oil as well as monitor ficm voltage .

a friend of mine does as soon as it stops snowing and raining we plan on checking it I think he knows how to read it I have no clue what to look for I have changed a couple of them I just don’t know the computer part of things I did check the ficm voltage with volt meter 48v key on 48v running (will only run at an idle) I’m just really disgusted I’ve been doing all this outside in the snow and it’s starting to kick my a**
Every 6.0L owner needs a good monitor and scan tool. Even more so now that they are an old platform.
Checking for codes is VERY important. The scan tool needs to be a good code reader also (and not all of them are). FORScan (either the full version for a Windows laptop or the Lite version for a smart phone) is the best to get and it is inexpensive. The cost is in the OBDII adapter, and the adapter to get depends on the device that will be used for the download. The Full version download is free, the Lite version is less than $10.
As a simple reminder, the FICM is a computer and voltages don't tell the entire story. Sometimes it is the logic board that has the issue.
Thanks he has a good diagnostic computer I put a sinister Hpop in just about 2 yrs ago that’s why I’m thinking it and hoping it is ficm hopefully we figure it out tomorrow thanks again

Forescan works amazing... you need an obd cord or obd bluetooth adapter.. you can also download torque pro to you phone and use old bluetooth..
Need to read the ice oil pressure. What is ipr %.. high ipr means a leak or a pump.. 03 generally it is the pump.. also need to check fuel pressure min fuel pressure is 45 psi at wot.. min ice is 500 psi and won't start til it reaches over 500..
