Thanks, They were on the truck when I bought it. They're thick hard rubber and super sturdy. My CB radio is also gone now. I need to get another one, (shouldnt have sold it in the first place!)
Shes in rough shape, and I've took off the box since this pic and am making a custom flatbed for it plus reconditioning it, but here she is
"Baby Blue"
just felt like giving an update...
if you were wondering, I put those seats in, and built the bumper (it still needs sand blasted and repainted but it will do for now) not to mention I am still working on the bed, and consoles for it before I repaint the whole truck and finish doing some resto work to it.
Ive been meaning to make up a custom brush gaurd for the front of my truck. That way I can get to places on time by not having to stop for all the deer. lol
Whatcha need is a good heavy push bumper off an old tow truck, that gets traffic moving when you roll up on their bumpers
Before shot of when I picked it up this fall.
And after a weekends work.
Got the box thats on it for free as the old one was wasted, $100 for paint and supplies. I used marine paint and it was thicker than I thought it would be, isnt super slick but good enough for the girls I go with it, the old lady likes it so thats all that really matters!
Gotta get my bed rails and cab guard on and paint my visor and get it mounted up, also fumbled a mirror getting it ready to spray so I'll have to get a piece of mirror cut tomorrow, parts house wants $45 for one! Also resealed my sunroof and did my injector lines, one injector, and fuel filter so I *should be leak free now.
Nice work man, I love how it looks all black with still a little bit of chrome If you would of blacked everything out, you could of had a F350 "Nite edition" truck lol. What black colour is that btw? Raven black?
Gotta leave the shiny bits! powerball'd the trim and lights too. I almost went with dark blue or bark brown (original colour was 'metallic walnut') at the last second but I'm glad I went with the black. The paint is General Paint Marine Hi-Gloss enamel, Self priming, $50 a gallon, and tough as nails. I know a couple guys that use it on their roundy round cars and say it sticks and holds on great, hit the whole truck with 220, wiped it down with xylene and hosed it on. I did two coats friday night/saturday morning and one more 'wet' coat saturday afternoon and left the heat up in the shop for the night. Went all out and did the diffs and frame too while I was at it, mixed up a thick cup of paint for that.
I was really thinking of doing black/red tu-tone like my old 80 f-150 had.
Really liked that combo but not sure how I'd do it with the old style box and new style fenders..
where did you get those rims? and what did they cost? mine are starting to look pretty bad and i wanna get a new set for the new set of tires i got for summer
