I like both types of trucks. I think it is silly to bash one another on what we drive and why. As Ford owners, we have to deal with enough bashing from the Dodge and Chevys already. Why are we picking on our brothers and sisters?

I agree that Ford has made some poor decisions on engines and transmissions and we the consumers got the raw end of the deal.

I believe we should all be on the same team.

I know alot of it is in good fun. I respect that. It just seems some posts throughout the tread was getting marginal.

This is a good post, and its what I have been thinking nearly the entire time I have been following this thread. Obviously, I am a diesel head so you all know what my preference is, BUT, we are comparing two different animals here. Two different types of trucks that were built for somewhat similar applications to meet the needs of people who have different preferences.

Some people don't want to deal with maintenance on a diesel, and some people like to have the freedom of being able to add HP and TQ by simply doing a few mods, and don't mind the added routine maintenance. Also whoever slammed the diesels for being too rattly, and then said they wanted to go out and get a Cummins...well...all I have to say is there are more holes in that argument than the cheese I have in the fridge.

Pick your poison, whatever...but it is pretty pointless to sit here and argue for hours over which one is better than the other..no one is going to get anywhere, or convince anyone to think differently. All vehicles have their strenghts, all vehicles have their weaknesses...and yes, all vehicles BREAK from time to time. They are only machines, subject to the quality of their environment and care.

Like it has been said one hundred billion times before, you are comparing apples to oranges.

I like swiss cheese too. The reason to get a V10 it is a tow rig out of the box no mods required, 4.30 4spd od. still goin strong just turned 100K & I have to change my plugs.(they did not remove themselves)

We got the V10 to plow snow & tow 20,000 all over. They are also nice & quiet.

As for rattly If I had to choose the Cummins would be the way to go. They are a nice inline 6 leaves a little room to work on. Plus with mods the go = not boom.

As for Bashing Ford does not have to worry about 2 Bankrupt Obama motors companies.

We do not bash each other, Apples & Oranges Are all fruit.

Oh & this:

Now we don't really want to get along do we...All in fun.

I believe her point was the amazing amount of irony in saying that a PSD is loud and then stating that a Cummins was in order. They are F-ing loud, but hell I like noise.

And there is no reason to think the 7.3 owners are in denial of Cummins. Many people in our forum would easily take the Ol' common rail inline 6 engine over our own engines, but its an expensive swap.

But so far not too many come rushing onto the forums with vivid dreams of swaping in the mighty V-10.

I think she was right.

I think My point was: if you like a Loud Smokin Diesel Cummins is the way to go. Love to here em spool up, they look like a train comin. (I Love Trains) Just my 2c

I do not have a 7.3, 6.0 or 6.4. Hmmmm. 6.7 lets see the reviews.

I just rant away because I have a V10 & Tows 20K all day. Run what I brung.

Now for a cheep swap I have to research that. My V10 should fit a 69 Mustang?

Hey, if you want to talk miles, I'm getting ready to join the 200k club.

I came from a Cummins household, and it was a 12v rattly SOB that inspired me to go diesel and buy my 7.3. My truck has impressed my Cummins-oriented family members with its reliability and work ethic. It has only left me stranded once (fuel lines froze solid in -30 weather) and has only needed replacement of routine accessories that wear out over time. She has gone to rescue her fair share of Cummins trucks too, BTW.

I think we are all a bunch of fruits.

The Cummins can probably be had for around or maybe a little more then a 7.3, but you don't have the headache of all the electrical wiring with the 7.3.

When I said it was an expensive swap, I was referring to the amount of parts and work to make the Cummins work in the 99-03 truck. Swaping into something else might be much cheaper infact.

Here's to loud *** turbos on anything.

I found it quite frustrating that my stock 6.0 needed mods to pull my 5'er through the mountains. I just needed a soothing female voice to calmly give me directions. My wife kept telling me where to go but it had nothing to with our actual destination so therefore, it wasn't helpful at all! I fixed that heinous problem by installing an aftermarket nav system. NOW, it's a tow rig.
