If you can't figure out how to unsubscribe, just take a break. And a deep breath.
But where are we taking this deep breath and do we need to adjust the size of our breath based on elevation? If me, Mountaineer and Chargersfan all take a deep breath at our own respective elevations then we are going to get different levels of oxygen in the same size breath and thus, different levels of relaxation from the deep breath.
Reading this thread has lowered my IQ by at least 20 points. If that's so, soon I may not even be able to hold my head up or speak. Still, I feel compelled to reply while I still have motor skills left in my fingers.
To all of you in the military or retired, you have the utmost of my respect. But please, it doesn't belong in this topic. If you feel you have to back up your opinions with your service record... well that is just so lame and weak. We respect you for your service. But if you think that is going to get us to adopt your opinions, you are being disrespectful to the rest of us. It doesn't mean anything more than anyone else's work or life experience.
FWIW, I am a civilian pilot. Being called "Zoomie" by an ex-marine coworker was an honor and acknowledgement of my qualification.
This is kind of a fun thread. It's a target rich environment for moderators. Still, we are enjoying the drama as much as the rest of you. I think Art is reluctant to knock heads, as am I. But we don't like to see the language filter being bumped. If you make a post and a word turns up in asterisks, edit it while you still can. Likewise for using symbols to get around the filter. Fair warning.
Yes, you denied it...right here. The below is exactly what you said. Please accept a cut and paste as I don't have time to figure out multi-quote on my phone.
Show me in that post where 1. I was even replying to you and 2. Where I even mentioned your name or your specific truck. If you go back and actually read the post you will see that I was relying to TennesseeMustang and that I was using two trucks with rear ends that would allow them to be turning the same wheel rpm with both engines at peak torque. "
You were quoting 6.4 numbers and speeds...Since I was the only one with a 6.4 on at the time, you were either talking to me since you were REPLYING to me, or you were talking to yourself.
This whole time you have been saying that I was denying that I was talking about a 6.4(and saying that I said I was actually referring to an engine other than the 6.4 in my comparison-see below quote from you) and posting my quotes showing that I said 6.4. I never denied that I was talking about a 6.4 If what you are actually meaning is that I was replying/talking to you when I was doing my comparison but that I later denied that I was replying to you......then you would be wrong about that too.
If you want to see who I was talking/replyin to go to post #5171. It clearly shows me quoting a message from Tennessee and then me showing him my math using the 6.4 and v10 numbers. So let me say it again. I was not talking to/about you. I was not replying to you. I was not talking about your specific truck. I even put a disclaimer above my math that says this does not apply to you. I can't make it any more clear than that to say that you or your truck were not the subject or the recipient of my message.

Like I said above, I never denied talking about the 6.4 in my comparison. I did deny that I was replying to you or using your truck as an example though, because I wasn't.
My problem is not with the use of "zoomies' but rather someone saying they lost respect for anyone just because they are in the AF and don't agree with them. Silly to say such things over a what engine your truck has in it. And yes I agree none of this belongs in this thread.

I'd say so. I bet you got to see a lot of the world, too.
Some good, some bad...Got a tour in Europe, but also got to see Saudi Arabia, (Desert Storm) Somalia, (Undesirable) Honduras, (Jungle) Bosnia, (WTF?) 2 tours in Korea (Decent) Afghanistan, (Allah hates them...literally) and 2 years in Iraq (See Somalia descriptor)...Spent stateside time at Benning (GA) Bragg, (NC) and Lewis. (WA) Lewis was the best.
Got a question for the 08-10 crowd though, so will post a new thread.

I'd never talk down to a zoomie for him/her being a zoomie. If you read what I said, I said I thought zoomies were smarter than that. What would I know?, I'm just a grunt, aka "Crunchie" to my fellow Army tankers...We "crunch" when a tank rolls over us...

Not if Mountaineer puts on a Raptor oxygen mask and gangloads the regulator thereby forcing air into his lungs at a higher pressure. JL will then argue that increased relaxation is only due to forced air induction into the lungs and not a result of Mountaineer's more efficient breathing technique. Bill will then say he can breath faster than any of the rest of us with 18,000 pounds sitting on his chest. Tom and Josh will get their calculators out to prove that oxygen in the bloodstream is affected by smoking and cholesterol, and ChargerFan's kid will then just call us all a bunch of names and then ChargerFan (fresh home from a training event) will argue that the Cobra oxygen mask is superior to the Raptor's. Then it will digress into momma jokes and a year later, we'll be talking about breathing efficiency again.
