I like the .45acp round just fine, its a great cartridge............However, the military ran tests not to long ago showing that 9mm simply has the best cyclic reliability of any pistol round (ability to feed, fire, eject, reload) Simply put......Its better to have a functioning 9mm, than a jammed .40 or .45acp. Another reason that most sub-machine guns(MP-5 UZI) are also 9mm..........jams are a bitch, in a combat situation.
Man, this one has gone off topic.................but still fun!
Well now that we slipped into the twilight zone....I'll take the Ruger .44 magnum in the back woods for protection myself and the .45 on the street. Nothing wrong with .380 for that sumthin sumthin in case.
I dont care what you say i hear this all the time coming from gas burning 1 ton drivers...My 460 will outpull that powerstroke or cummins anyday. Not likely. First off they make diesels for a reason they have alot more lowend torque to pull heavier loads and to not use much more fuel than driving without a load. They also last longer than most gas engines, but they do cost more to maintain and repair. This is why alot of people drive 3/4 and 1 ton gas trucks. They are alot cheaper to maintain and can pull the load, just not as easily as the powerstrokes. I dont personally care for any of the powerstrokes except the 7.3 im more of a 5.9 cummins guy. Either way they are both international motors, so dont kill me for liking a dodge

All the big name trucks are fine and proof is that they are still there and that was caused by competition. They are all made by people but it is human nature for people to be a little territorial and luckily not as much as a dog for example. Another example is when people get in fights over who likes a certain baseball team.
That test has come a lot in this thread already! I think it is hard to try and put a pulling test on paper. How many hills do you pull that are only 450 meters long? I would like to see the numbers on a pull like Eisenhower heading out of Denver W on I-70. I would bet that if those same two pickups in that test left Denver at the same time the psd would be sitting at a restraunt in Silverthorne before the V10 even made it through the tunnel.

Its hard to put anything on paper.
Its not absolute, but it is indicative.

A lot, but as mentioned, this is a test that is only indicative of performance, not the absolute barometer, its just like a car being quick in a 1/4 mile being quick on the road.
The biggest thing I note there is that the PSD failed to continue accelerating on the 15% grade.
To me that would indicate on a large grade the PSD would hit a proverbial brick wall, while the the V10 with its wider powerband would be able to continue to accelerate.

Well if there are 2 similarly equipped trucks here and someone is willing to arrange a towing test, go for it.
I am certain that the elevation of the pass you are referring to would play into the PSD's cards a little, but I am sure it would be a good test.

I haven't a dog in this fight, but the information posted above seems to indicate that the PSD may be in for a bigger fight than it anticipated.
