Wow...feet of snow and now weather like this?! I like VA's slight chances of hurricanes. At least you can predict them a lil better.
Closest sirens we have are for nuclear power plants around here. I think theres some near Lake Anna in the north and Surry just to the SE of me. No tornado sirens around here...
The sirens around here are a bit different, creepier. Back in Colorado I have only heard a tornado siren ONCE. Didn't get a whole lot of them back at home.
Our family dog when I was growing up was a German Shepherd / Rottweiler mix. Fantastic dog. Very protective, extremely intelligent. Her name was Lizzy. She was a great guard dog, even trapped a police officer in the back yard one time - he was chasing a perp and thought he'd take a shortcut through our yard. hahaha WRONG. She loved to chase squirrels - she hated them because they stole her food. She'd never kill them, just paralyze their back legs. I can't tell you how many squirrels I've shot with a pellet gun just to put them out of their misery. I'd come home from high school and just in time to see a poor squirrel draggin itself across the street.
She loved sugar daddy caramel pops, and whenever she was around another dog who was misbehaving, she'd set them straight. She was the best dog trainer I have ever seen.
Her as a puppy:
As an old lady:
Here is my dog today. This is Mattie:
She's very smart and quite the characer, but as you know, Bulldogges are considered "non-sporting companion dogs" and man does she fit that bill. lol.
Great pics Lisa. Gotta love our dogs. Mine are super protective especially with the kids. They are a lot smarter than a lot of non-dog people give them credit for being.

Great looking dogs by the way!
Thanks. Yeah, he's just now starting to go into rooms in his house and NOT smell the skunk. His dog is a house dog and I guess since he's used to being in the house, he made a break for it when the door opened.
These were the best I have ever made. Nice, sweet, smoky and slightly hot flavor. I did the Tiger Brats recipe from Jason (HKusp) with a little twist in the prep. They came out really juicy and good.
My dinner plans just changed. J-L and I had bought a ham to make ham steaks on the grill. Well I couldn't find it in the fridge,it rolled out of the bag and is under my toolbox on the truck right next to the stacks. We bought it 2 days ago.

There is a pizza on the way.
Your luck is like mine. Left a dozen eggs in the back of the wife's Expedition one time. They sat there for two days...it was about 60-65 outside. Bad mistake but even worse when it's mama's vehicle.

Haha...well, how close to the stacks was the ham? Maybe its cooked already.
lol
I got the chix marinating as we speak.
I marinated some baby sirloin steaks the other night...in a teriyaki sauce. oh my god, they would compete with a good steakhouse any night of the week.

That sounds good too, Lisa!
Tomorrow, I am doing a pork loin, slow cooked in apple sauce and cinnamon all day long. Serving that with real scalloped potatoes and salad.
