lol, this winter was tough, I considered packing it up several times. Considered moving and becoming a firefighter for a bit. Then all of the sudden, bam!! the phone wont quit ringing, and I am ***** to the wall again, just like it should be. So, right now, things are really good!!

Been through there more times than I can count. On the way back from Thanksgiving in Alabama, we actually ate at the Cracker Barrel there(I think) it was up on a little hill or something right off the interstate!

It is Wytheville that has the water tower painted like a hot air balloon or am I thinking of another town around yall!?

Well Brent, the weather and the season don't affect much here except our trying to get out and deliver. Our delivery van is just a 2WD so I ended up putting a tonneau on my truck so I could take stuff out in the snow, etc. No complaints though...like I said we're eating and warm and dry - can't ask for much more.

You are correct...that's us. God I hate that stupid water tank. Would you believe when the town decided to paint that turd like that, they had the nerve to ask all of the employees to donate towards getting it done. Anyways, you are correct about the Cracker Barrel too. It's just off exit 73 on top of that hill. The town is about 14.4 square miles in area. We've got 19 motels just in the town and restaurants coming out our ears. They're supposed to be building another two motels and some more restaurants in the summer.

The weather here makes everyone run inside for 6 months, all the rain we get. So, people arent outside looking at projects as much. Of course it leads to interior remodels and such but even so, everyone hits hard around April-May and will let up in October.

Kind of like the landscaping biz around here. A couple of my friends are landscapers and that's kind of how their work is. It's good though. They said the hardest part for them when they started out was trying to manage their money and personnel to last them through the winter. Of course, they also plow snow and do some other things in the winter so they don't get hit too hard.

Yep, very similar. This winter a great customer of mine knew I wasnt busy, and paid me my hourly rate to hang flat screen LCD TV's in all the rooms of her home. Run the HD cable, surround, everything. She knew it would cost more but wanted to make sure I made it through. I will always be okay as long as I keep good with her!!!

Night Caleb, good talking with you.

That's a great customer there. You just never know who's going to be looking out for you. Good thing about the health care business is that it's always busy. We get calls from the hospital at all hours of the night for oxygen, nebulizers, etc. when they're releasing patients. Always nice to have on-call people too though. We've finally gotten staffed up to the point now where we don't have to take call at night or on the weekends. Makes a huge difference. The on-call guys get $50 a day for being on call and their hourly rate from the time they get the call from the answering service until they get home from the call.
