Jay - doesn't your gym have Tv's? I actually don't really like the big fancy gyms, I preferred to go to the local rec center. Nice machines, nice people, never real busy, no barbie or ken dolls.
Thats part of the reason I went, so you can check out the ladies and the gym
I can never keep track of whether Arizona is one or two hours difference since they do not observe daylight savings time like most of the rest of us.
Edit: Brent, the east coast folks have a half a day of work in before you even get out of bed. lol
Why ont they observe daylight savings??
Sometimes we do, but on days like tomarrow Ill prolly still be in bed when he gets up... I dont have to make the donuts early in the mornig tomarrow so I get to sleep in
Sport bikes...heck yeah. That's one of my favorite things. Yes, right near the Council Bluffs area. We'd usually stay at a hotel there when we raced at MAM. Here's the track, it's one of my favorites: Mid America Motorplex. Main Section.

If I could offer my advice...depending on what kind of riding you'll be doing the most would determine which bike you would get. Mostly carving the canyons and maybe some track days -- go for the 600. They turn quite a bit quicker than the liter bikes and won't wear you out nearly as bad during spirited riding. However, if you'll be doing mostly commuting and around town riding with only the occasional corner carving, the 1000 might be a little better. The extra torque from the big engine makes stop and go riding much easier.

Same thing here. I got really tired of being managed by people who had no idea what was really going on. My degree is in business management...I think I could handle it. Now, I just manage myself and it's a lot less irritating for me.

Yeah, I'm with Jay...I go to the gym without makeup in baggy gym pants and I go there to sweat my *** off, not be in a beauty pageant.
When my big *** is running on a treadmill, the last thing I need is a gaggle of blondies behind me. lol.
Jeremy I am very familiar with the bluffs area. Randy's parents are in Omaha, so I've been around that area and driven through it quite a few times. I'm not so sure about ME racing a bike though. I might just have to sit back and be a spectator on that one. I guess stock car racing is pretty big around the Cedar Rapids area, Randy wants to get me into stock car racing. lol.

You don't need to actually race. A track day can actually be more fun sometimes since there's no anticipation of competition. Track days are like an open ride day at the track, where you can just go out and ride around at your own pace. Typically they separate the riders into three groups as well, beginner, intermediate, and expert, so a beginner is not out there holding up traffic or getting nervous from having some expert rider blast by unexpectedly.
If it's something you think you might like to try, I'd be more than willing to help you so you wouldn't be going out there completely clueless and lost. I've helped quite a few of my friends when riding on the track...learning the correct lines, body position, braking points, etc... I kind of enjoy teaching others how to ride on the track.
I used to go to this one gym that was full of the ken and barbie dolls. Was kinda funny i would go in there and work out and i did not fit in at all!
The gym i go to now still has the ken and barbies, but not as bad.
Pet peeve is the guys that appear fit, go and throw a bunch of weight on, and swing the hell outta their back while lifting (or just in general lifting wrong, really wrong)
They try and show off, but it just makes them look silly!
Naw......all the rest of you are weird We NEVER change our clocks. How simple is that? It was originated when most of the country was farmers.......I think it's high time it is dropped completely! And it's not just Phoenix who doesn't observe it, the whole state of AZ with the exception of the Indian reservation are rebels
