My workload is astronomical right now. It's all I can do to just be able to read all the posts.

Dan That's great that you have a ton of work. Business here has fallen flat on its face. Usually it slows down arround Thanksgiving to a little after New Years. It cam a little early and a lot harder than most.
I went through some time with insomnia also. I started taking these all natural herbs and they worked great. I take 1 capsule 3 times a day. They have St. Johns Wort and Kava Kava. The one that I use is made by Gaia Herbs.
Naw......all the rest of you are weird We NEVER change our clocks. How simple is that? It was originated when most of the country was farmers.......I think it's high time it is dropped completely! And it's not just Phoenix who doesn't observe it, the whole state of AZ with the exception of the Indian reservation are rebels
I'm not sure that farmers had anything to do with daylight saving time. We work from sunup till the work is done for the day, no matter what time it is.
That might be true, but it's kinda sad.... I don't seem to recall hearing "If poppa ain't happy, ain't nobody happy" - i won't go in to any analysis... i'll just come out sounding like a misogynist...
Sport bikes...heck yeah. That's one of my favorite things. Yes, right near the Council Bluffs area. We'd usually stay at a hotel there when we raced at MAM. Here's the track, it's one of my favorites: Mid America Motorplex. Main Section.
My favorite was VIR - I ran a trackday there the 2nd year they were open and it just suited me... great times & great times!!!

However, if you'll be doing mostly commuting and around town riding with only the occasional corner carving, the 1000 might be a little better. The extra torque from the big engine makes stop and go riding much easier.
Yeah, I agree with you 100%. Been riding for 26years with half them on sportbikes. I was always faster on my 600s at the track. The 1000 has another advantage - you don't have to scream it so hard, and you know, when you hear those revs going, it gets the blood pumping, and on public streets, 150mph is not so good.... I think my closest track is 5hrs+ from me, so unless I move back East, it'll be canyon-carving, and the cops out here are THICK up there.... LOTS of squids out here too
The gym i go to now still has the ken and barbies, but not as bad.
Pet peeve is the guys that appear fit, go and throw a bunch of weight on, and swing the hell outta their back while lifting (or just in general lifting wrong, really wrong)
They try and show off, but it just makes them look silly!
Funny...same goes for girls though. I remember this one time in particular, one of the Rec members brought his gilfriend in with him for a workout. She was of course beautiful, little petite thing. She is all decked out in her spandex and perfect hair. She gets on the stair stepper, right...not exactly an easy machine if you're out of shape. After about a minute we all hear her screech across the machine room calling for her boyfriend, complaining that there is something "wrong" with the stair stepper because it was "too hard". lol. We all got a good chuckle out of that one. She biotched and moaned the ENTIRE time. Just goes to show, just because you look good, doesn't mean you're in shape. Just because you don't look as good, doesn't mean you aren't.

We'll see. I grew up riding dirtbikes but I don't know much about the street variety. I'd most likely be more comfortable racing vehicles with 4 wheels. My stepmom tried to convince me to get into quad racing a few years ago, I'm pretty fast on an ATV.

Wow, mighty big words this morning. I am impressed.

Brendan, don't be too hard on yourself...I'd say you more of a misanthropist.
I've seen many cases of "if poppa ain't happy, ain't nobody happy"..not because poppa always gets what he wants, like momma usually does, but because poppa can be a grumpy *** and drag everyone else down.

Ouchie!!
I'd say I have great faith in the stupidity of the general populace, but do tend to give people the benefit of the doubt and believe most people are generally "good". That said, I don't suffer fools gladly.
Brendan, honestly, I have to hand it to you. You are more giving and trusting than most folks. I might be more skeptical of humanity than you are; generally when I meet someone, I stay on the defensive until I have a good feeling about them or know enough about them to allow any type of trust factor.

Getting down below 40 here in the mornings. Going to have to store the bike for the winter in a month or so.
