House inspection really did come on quick. It's shocking how quickly this is all moving along lately. I'm excited for the inspection but it makes me nervous too, nothing is set in stone until they sign off on the inspection.

Good lord I would pay good money to see this. Seriously. Part of his problem is that he is a very rich man. No one ever tells him what is up, or how awful and egocentric he can be.
Thatta girl, I also like the food hiding idea!!

As for punching him, ive punched (and have been punched) by richer guys!
Im one of those guys that isnt afraid to tell someone how it is, especialy those "im better then everyone" kinda guys.

Some people need their head's given a shake from time to time, and for some dumb reason, I like to be the guy to do it.

My poor dog, she cut her foot open yesterday, and we cleaned the wound, and confined her to her outside kennel. She looks sooooo sad, and each time i go and check on her she barks and wants me to let her out to play.

Thanks! You like my big rig flaps?

Sheldon, no one likes a sad doggie. Why does she have to stay confined?

We have 320 acres of land, and our yardsite is maybe 5-7 acres, and its an old yardsite(100ish years) with lots of old bottles, cans, rusty stuff in one bluff of trees(we didnt get around to cleaning all of it up this year).

Whatever Lily cut her paw on yesterday cut it enough that dirt and other crap could easily get in there, infecting it, and I dont want her going back out in that pile of old bottles and rusty stuff, at least till she is healed. I dont want her going there at all, but ya know how dogs are, they like that stuff, she has found all sorts of neat stuff and brought it to us!

Long story short she is confined so she can heal up a little bit.

Its cute, she has her nose poking out of her doghouse, and shes throwing the puppy dog eyes at me. Its almost working!

Shes a lab/retriver, with one hell of a lovable personality, its hard to see her not being able to run around and play!

Cool avatar, Chris. I have that same photo on the wall in my office. I get crap over it sometimes but I don't care.

Sorry to disrupt the current conversation. I'm just dealing with the opposite problem right now, and I wish my boss was more like you.
Thank you, Lisa. I really am happy for Joey and I never had any doubts that he would do well on his own. He's an artist with a welding machine or a torch. I feel lucky just to have been able to work with him at one time, he's that good.

We had a guy do that at R&M once. Went around and said "F You" and "F You" and "I never liked you" and on and on until he finally walked out the door. I'm proud to say that he drank beer with me a week later at a local icehouse.

Glad to see everyone is doing well today. I didn't have much time to be on as I spent most of my day at a CNC turning center helping one of our young machinists get a handle on some difficult parts that we have running right now. I love that part of my job. By mid day he was starting to see and starting to get more confident and by the end of the day I had him running by himself making near perfect parts, tolerance +-.0005. Yes, that's four places. Seeing him "get it" made my day. I'm sure that he'll have a bright and successful career, he just needs someone to spend some time with him.

Still raining it's butt off here in Willis Texas, I love this weather....

That ought to keep him busy.
Let's think of something better than fries, but not as bad as fish. I am drawing a blank right now. But someone will come up with something that will take about 10 days to really start smelling.

Nope. I offered, he refused. Most likely because it was my idea...that and the fact that I can't be hassled when I'm 800 miles away.

Another funny story:

We've all had trouble with our animals, but I don't think anyone can top this one
Calling in sick to work makes me uncomfortable. No matter how legitimate my excuse, I always get the feeling that my boss thinks I'm lying

On one recent occasion, I had a valid reason but lied anyway, because the truth was just too darned humiliating. I simply mentioned that I had sustained a head injury, and I hoped I would feel up to coming in the next day. By then, I reasoned, I could think up a doozy to explain the bandage on the top of my head. The accident occurred mainly because I had given in to my wife's wishes to adopt a cute little kitty.

Initially, the new acquisition was no problem.

Then one morning, I was taking my shower after breakfast when I heard my wife, Deb, call out to me from the kitchen.
'Honey! The garbage disposal is dead again. Please come reset it.'
'You know where the button is,' I protested through the shower pitter- patter and steam. 'Reset it yourself!'
'But I'm scared!' she persisted. 'What if it starts going and sucks me in?'
There was a meaningful pause and then, 'C'mon, it'll only take you a second.'
So out I came, dripping wet and butt naked, hoping that my silent outraged nudity would make a statement about how I perceived her behavior as extremely cowardly.
Sighing loudly, I squatted down and stuck my head under the sink to find the button. It is the last action I remember performing.

It struck without warning, and without any respect to my circumstances. No, it wasn't the hexed disposal, drawing me into its gnashing metal teeth. It was our new kitty, who discovered the fascinating dangling objects she spied hanging between my legs. She had been poised around the corner and stalked me as I reached under the sink. And, at the precise moment when I was most vulnerable, she leapt at the toys I unwittingly offered and snagged them with her needle-like claws. I lost all rational thought to control orderly bodily movements, blindly rising at a violent rate of speed, with the full weight of a kitten hanging from my masculine region.

Wild animals are sometimes faced with a 'fight or flight' syndrome. Men, in this predicament, choose only the 'flight' option. I know this from experience. I was fleeing straight up into the air when the sink and cabinet bluntly and forcefully impeded my ascent.
The impact knocked me out cold.
When I awoke, my wife and the paramedics stood over me.
Now there are not many things in this life worse than finding oneself lying on the kitchen floor butt naked in front of a group of 'been- there, done-that' paramedics.
Even worse, having been fully briefed by my wife, the paramedics were all snorting loudly as they tried to conduct their work, all the while trying to suppress their hysterical laughter......and not succeeding.
Somehow I lived through it all. A few days later I finally made it back in to the office, where colleagues tried to coax an explanation out of me about my head injury. I kept silent, claiming it was too painful to talk about, which it was.

'What's the matter?' They all asked, 'Cat got your tongue?'
If they only knew! <O
<O
Why is it that only the women laugh at this?

Great looking couple, tell them thanks for serving our country. And yes I mean them. I was in (USAF) for 6yrs and know that it takes a supportive spouse to make it work.

We build progressing cavity pumps and power section drilling motors for oilwell drilling. Today we were threading stators, and that is the tolerance for an ID bore that is back 10" from the face of the tube. Takes a lot of patience.
