First drive is already done...well, not with the rev limit gone, but I've got about 80 miles on it so far. Only reason I haven't been driving it more is the busted PS hose, but I picked up the new/repaired hose this evening, so I can start driving it again tomorrow. I'll get some vids of the full power runs once the engine's broken in and I throw some big HP tunes on it though.
Not to the exact dollar, but I have estimated that I've spent around $13K-$14K on everything, and got back around $5K-$6K from selling 7.3 parts. Plus, I still have some stock 7.3 and 5.9 parts that I can sell for a little bit on eBay and recoup a few more dollars. I'd say my total outlay was somewhere around $7k-$9K, which is right about what I had figured it would be. I wanted to come in under $10K total cost and be close to 600 HP, which is how it turned out.
Didn't have a billet 203 thermostat on it did you?
Actually, I did have the billet housing on it and a 203* stat. I'm sure the thermostat is rusted by now, but the housing is probably good. We need to take this to PM's...shoot me one.
I've heard that Wagner can be tough to get in touch with at times...guess he's been busy this week.
Mark, it is just a file that gets emailed to me. It's getting frustrating though.
On another note, due to the number of PM's I'm getting about 7.3 parts left, it's easier for me to make a general statement about it: I have only 3 things left -- the fan shroud, valve covers, & UVC gaskets. No performance parts, no fuel system parts, no turbo parts, just the three stock things listed. Oh, and the thermostat stuff is already spoken for. Thanks.
Just sent an email to Bob. Received a quick reply that he got the software today, and to relax and give him a bit. LOL. I have honestly been kind of bothersome with this, eager to get the file, and either calling or emailing him (both today) every day this week. I can't help it, I'm like a kid at Christmas just wanting to open my present, and asking every day if it's time yet.
And who can blame you? You just finished a long and arduous project that you put a lot of detail and hard work into, and yet you can't really drive it yet. Gotta be frustrating - I know I'd be very antsy.
