From what I've read, that would be an understatement lol

Yes, Kris and I are very similar in that aspect. He's going to have one hell of a truck that he should be very proud of once it's completed.

Will, thanks for the compliment.

are there any updates or updated videos of this? I realize it's over 1.5 years, but it seems like everything abruptly stopped at the 4,500 mile mark....

Oh, she's running strong as ever. I've got about zero time to post right now, but I'll give some quick details...approx 22K on the conversion and I'm still pleased as punch! Been making some minor tweaks and additions over the past year or so, but nothing major. Can post more details later, but figured I'd at least respond.

What ended up being the cause and cure for the 60% (or what ever it was) power output issue. I checked in on the PSN thread once in a while back when Bean was saying he thought he had figured it out but I never saw the outcome.

*Good to see you are doing well Jeremy.

Nope, not gonna let this one die. I'd love to to a 5.9 conversion but without the BTS to handle it.... *sigh* - I need bigger bonuses at work.

Anyway Jeremy, if you get a few minutes to update us, I'd love to hear the resolution to the 60% issue and in general how things have been going.

Hey gang, sorry for the lengthy time to reply. I've got a lot changing in my life right now, and it's keeping me busy...I've decided to go back to college and finish my Mechanical Engineering degree. That's the program I started when I first enrolled back in 1998, but ended up switching majors and got a Business Management degree. Ever since I graduated, I regretted not carrying through and getting the ME degree. Well, the opportunity has come up for me to be able to go back to school full time (and thankfully not have to work too) and complete the ME degree. This semester is the first of 6 (three years) that I'll have to take. Getting all of that orchestrated, learning how to study again after nearly ten years out of school, and the classes I have are just plain hard...it's all kicking my tail and zapping up nearly every free second I have.

Anyway, back on track with the thread, the truck is still doing great. About 36K miles since the conversion and I'm still loving it. I have been through a few turbo swaps, and think I have finally found one I am happy with. It's a 62/68/12 from ED, if anyone is wondering. The original HTT spooled slower than I wanted and still ran hotter than I wanted. Switched to one ED turbo, a 64/68/12, and it spooled just a tick slower than what I was still after, so we swapped compressor side to what I have now and it's been great. Spools well and runs cool. Towed this load, grossing just over 26K pounds, without missing a beat and rarely even hitting 1250 on the pyro.

Only other slight issue I've had is the high pressure line that connects the second CP3 pump to the fuel rail developed a very small crack and had to be replaced. The new line (and what all of the Evil Twin setups are now using), is of a much, much higher quality than what the old one was, and I believe made by the same supplier that provides the OEM lines to Cummins.

Oh, and in the pic, you'll see the truck has some new tires and wheels. Finally got the different Moto Metal wheels I was wanting and put some 325/65-18 (35's) Mickey Thompson MTZ on it...which are great tires, except on ice. Otherwise, they are doing good in rain, mud (obviously), snow (without ice), and are relatively quiet on the highway.

To answer the question about the 60% issue...someone is going to have to remind me what that was all about, because I honestly don't remember what was going on. I think the truck is making full power right now though. Had it on a dyno at a truck event over the summer and it laid down 550 HP and 1105 ft-lb. I'm told that dyno also reads lower than most, but those are the numbers I have so I can't claim any higher than that.

I really don't have any further plans for it at the moment. If time and money allow over the summer, I would still love to put a compound turbo setup on it, but not sure if funds are going to be there. Going back to school has necessitated that I be on a pretty strict budget, so I'm not getting my hopes up for it.

Hope you all are doing great!

Congrats on the getting back in school. Wished it were possible for me but oh well. Glad everything is going well with the truck. How about bring that thing to RRE in july. Sure everyone would like to see it, and run you down the track lol.

Glad to hear from you again Jeremy!

Looks like you need some airbags on the rig. Just because you got a Cummins doesn't make it a work truck, it needs airbags to be a work truck!!

School is going to be hard, but I think the sacrifice is going to be worth it in the end.

When are the dates? I'd look into going, since I probably won't be tied up in a seasonal job this summer.

That picture is a little deceiving, as it wasn't really sagging all that much. It's kind of sitting at a funky angle in the parking lot in that pic. I do have a set of Firestone Work Rite helper springs on it, which did help a lot.
