Cummins Conversion Update
Great to hear she is running well still Jeremy, so what kind of looks have you got so far?
I am watching a MCN Diesel here drop an 07 CR into a 2000 F-250 here its looking pretty interesting.
Mike when are you going to have some time to check out the camp ground if you haven't already?

Sheldon, for the right $$$, I'd be there in the morning.
LOL.
Trans seems to be doing fine so far. When Brian built it, I told him I had a goal of 500 HP in mind for the 7.3, so I think that's where the valve body is tuned right now. I can tweak quite a bit with the PCS controller though, so I'm not terribly hard on it. I can imagine that it will be getting some updates though, since it's been 3 or 4 years since Brian built the trans, and I've got about 35K on it.
Thanks for the kind words guys. I am still uber happy with this thing. Even on a bad day, it makes me smile.
Looks...well, I do catch some odd looks around town every now and then, and when I'm in different towns. I figured I'd catch a bunch of looks while out on the highways, but those people seem to be in a world of their own and hardly even notice a truck passing them, which is kind of scary really since that's when they are driving the fastest.
However, I don't drive the truck around town much, really. It's mostly a highway and traveling vehicle. Maybe when the weather warms up, I'll drive it more in town, but all that cold steel and aluminum spinning up inside a brand new engine kind of makes my gut wrench, thinking about what kind of scraping and such is going on in there, and knowing that the oil is molasses thick, not getting pumped up very quickly...I don't like to start it when it's cold, just to save wear on the engine. Remember, breaking it in till 10K = no synthetic oil. If I know I'm going to be traveling and it's cold, I will plug it in for 3+ hours, to ensure the coolant is at least warm. I don't want to leave it plugged in all the time though.
I do have every intention of being at TS. No idea what the plan is there yet. Mike, when you find something out, can you update the TS thread, as to try and not derail this one too badly, please.

I also need to remember who the guys were who live right there in Bowling Green to hopefully meet up with them too.
What Jeremy said. I will start the thread here shortly. Watching football too you know.
Brad, you are spot on with your comment. Knowing this thing inside and out, if something should go wrong, I'm pretty sure I would know how to fix it. Not to mention the work I've done on Jeff's Cummins engine a couple months ago. He dropped a valve seat, and I got to dive way deeper into the Cummins than I thought I would just yet, by pulling the head and having some work done on it. There's a ton of stuff that's attached to the head. That was a lot of work, but I gained a lot of valuable insight.
Hey now, the only thing I've broken was the engine. I don't think that makes me known for breaking chit. Lots of people have broken a lot more than me.
I am being quite careful with the mods and such on this one though. I've poured a ton of time into research on what works and what is causing carnage, and I'm staying away from things that haven't been proven for some time on other engines. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm immune to anything breaking.

It's great to hear everything is going well Jeremy! I wonder if there are enough people out there to know there's something wrong with your engine, or the way it sounds while driving around in a Ford!
Yeah thats all you have BROKEN, but i remember hearing you come down the road out of lead hill and then up into BTS' driveway, Brian and Cale standing there saying if ANYONE is going to break something, it's that damned boy there. LMAO
I honestly don't think there are many people around here who have any idea there's something different. Even at the gas station, there could be 3 other diesel trucks there fueling up, and when I start the truck to leave, nobody even turns a head. Oh well. I didn't build it for them.

You've never told me about that.

I didn't figure you'd want to line them up, I wouldn't want to either after all the time and effort put into it. It seems like the two of you are building comparable trucks, and going about it in the same way by being rather meticulous as you build the new engine.
