Good looking truck Morris, would be fun to do a lap or 2 around the yard in, as long as it has steering. lol
12 pieces to these mirror frames, glad this part is done, now it's all easy stuff. Rust primer, fill primer, black coat, clear coat, buy stainless hardware and assemble on truck. Mirrors will be best part of truck.
Chilly here until Sunday or Monday, might be warm enough for a quick clear coat.
I now feel like a real fool to to ever attempt doing a resto on it many years ago, it was a very nice 10 footer survivor that was running and driving quite nicely with no real problems. I should have driven the wheels off of it instead of wanting a perfect show truck with all the many countless hours, dollars plus the endless frustration that came my way.
Are your transmission parts finally on their way?
They've got my money so the parts had better be on their way, if not, I guess I'd be SOL. LOL
I got one of those never ending projects in the shelter, really want to get a lot done on it this winter to make up for last spring.
The house going up for sale meant that I could only break down the 450 and get the motor across, then I had to drop the shelter as there had to be a real property report done. The guy showed up a month after the shelter was dropped instead of the week after like the agent said he would. By the time the house got sold I was into my season and as a result nothing got done.
It didn`t rain here but it was cold and a bit windy.
What glass are you getting John?
.
I have all the glass for it Morris, just need to put it in then start assembling the cab, need to get new gaskets for my defrost vents then put in my vintage air..
Good afternoon to folks who lurk here.
Did you pay by credit card Perry? If so the card company should be of help if there's ever any problems. Bummer about house sale mix up but at least that`s over with.
Where did you get the glass for your truck John? I've been lucky that most of my trucks had good glass when I got them. This summer I got quoted just over $400 for the windshield for my 53 resto rod 53 M100 cash and carry. The install is very simple.

Is it kite flying weather out there?
Thanks Ian, now my friend is feeling better so hopefully we can get it finished this winter. It`s pretty calm today for a change tho very frosty overnight.
Paid by debit Morris, don't really expect to see the parts before Thursday of next week. Got my mirror frames in grey primer, will put on 2 coats of the black sanding primer on tomorrow.
Going to put the green tape on the truck on saturday and paper in the passenger side, have the feeling I'm going to have a shot of painting in another panel and want clear coat on so that I can mount these mirrors.
I've got a window collection started and should sort it out and get it inside, cats room is being converted to delicate and sellable parts storage

I got a new windshield for nothing and had Apple glass cut the rear one for me..
A new windshield for nothing?
What`s the rest of the story....you gotta let me in on that secret!
At least tell what the back one cost.
Before he retired a friend who was a manager of a glass shop gave me pricing almost at cost.
My windshield was free because the guy cracked the one in my panel when he put it in but I was fortunate enough that the crack stopped an inch then came back on itself so will use the replacement on this truck. I still have 2 originals in storage but they are clear not tinted. Rear windows are cheap in the states at only 60- 80 bucks depending where you buy them. I had mine cut out of laminated tinted glass at Apple..
