When I worked on the railroad, they were always moving dimensional loads through Raymore on Hwy 15 and Hwy 6. I had a cantilevered crossing there that always had to be watched.
A couple of those things were build in your back yard Ray, right there in B&W. Some 200K# of steel rolling down the highway. I kept thinking perhaps SK was trying to set the record for the worlds largest still...
Still chilly out there boys...
Made a career change yesterday. Ending my self employment and going to work as a project supervisor for a growing developer here in town. He's been after me for about 2 years, I finally submitted. It'll be a big change, but at the end of the day it'll be nice to have a steady paycheck, know exactly what I'm bringing home every 2 weeks, have EI and other benefits, paid holidays etc.
Man this is getting old, I'm sure everyone feels the same about this.
''Saskatoon under an extreme cold warning''
Watching over sized loads rumbling over a cantilevered crossing doesn`t sound like a lot of fun Ray.
Good luck on your career change Sherm, hopefully you still get lots of seat time in your Super Duty.
Is it extremely cold in Winterpeg too Grant?
Morning boys... I wish someone would leave the door open to the outside oven. This cold is kicking my hiney. But...who's complaining? Only another 3 months if we're lucky. It'll pass like a wet fart.
Thanks for the good luck wishes. It'll be a change. In some ways welcomed, in some ways I'm a bit apprehensive. It'll be great to know what my income is at all times, and have a steady income I can depend on. With the family to support, this is the main reason for the change. There are so many new "contractors" in town that its hard to bid and win a job and have any profit in it. It will be different to have a schedule and routine. I know many of their guys already, so there shouldn't be too many hiccups getting along with everyone.
I'm not sure what I will be doing with my Super Duty yet. I will have a company truck in the near future, and being that I won't be able to write off the expense of the Super Duty anymore, I may have to consider letting it go. It will be replaced with a 4wd/awd family vehicle, perhaps an explorer against my better judgement I have the Cummins for a beater/farm truck, and it is reliable enough for as much as I will need a truck. Either way, I think a change will do me good. Sheryl Crow says so.
Perhaps I'll even have time to take on a project...finally buy back my '96 and give it the love it deserves.
