I put in about 7 quarts to refill.
I just took off some wires so I can see in there better.
Is there oil behind the ICP sensor?
It looks like its cross threaded or something.
It looks crooked and I can see a piece of what looks to be a green o-ring.
So could the oil be coming from there ?

The ICP is the sensor mounted on the top side of the drivers side oil rail. Yes there is oil there and it is under a lot of pressure. A bad oring will pump oil out faster than you can pour it from the jug. You have a new sensor coming, if you can wait, it will have an oring on it. If not, replace the oring and continue you quest for a fix.

Post 116 refers to the IPR which is mounted on the HPOP. It is the one that has the gold colored pieces you posted a picture of. It also has an oring and high pressure.

Hi Barry,

Don't want to get in the way but here is a suggestion for what it's worth.

Since it seems to start easier with ICP unplugged leave it unplugged until you can find the leak. It is in default this way and not checking for oil pressure from the IPR. It will idle this way but won't drive well. Kinda of a limp home mode. Try to clean up as much oil as possible and try to start. Just a few cranks, doesn't even have to start in order to find an oil leak this bad. Once it starts it might be leaking so much oil it is difficult to determine where it is coming from. Good luck.

Your not in the way and that is also what I would suggest. I am trying to find out what part has the bad oring he is seeing. It sounds like the dealership started tearing his oil system apart and never put it all back together. Parts of his IPR was left off, maybe cross threaded, ICP was leaking oil, and I wander if a test plug was left out or loose.

I've been following this thread since post one and get so angry and worked up over the sheet the Stealership pulled that I have to get up and walk away. I keep coming back for the updates and to offer what little help I can. I wish I was right there with him. This has been very frustrating. I can't even imagine how vinford is feeling.

It goes over the thing that screws into the HPOP.
Its crossthreaded Im sure.
I cant find the right size wrench to get on it yet.
Could the oil be coming from it?
Ill go back through the threads ande find what its called?

Yep, and if it is cross threaded, you need to have a long heart to heart talk to you ford dealer. That is the IPR and the fact that they cross treaded it is probably why they said you needed a new pump. You will need a very deep socket to remove it.

Are you sure its crossed and not just loose? I can't remember the size, but I used a shower valve socket and it worked very well.

I dont think I have any sockets that big.
Im wondering if I should leave it as is in case its cross threaded?
Im about ready to hire a lawyer and a mechanic............
It looks crooked and I can see the o-ring. I cant wiggle it by hand.
I was wondering if I need a crows foot to get at it?
Is there enough oil behind it to cause the leakage Im having?

It's 1 1/8" or 29mm, both size sockets fit it. I once saw and oxygen sensor socket fit over one. If you can see the oring it is definaitely going to leak. 500 PSI while cranking.

Yes, more than enough oil for that. I think I would stop until you have a talk about your problems with the owner of the dealership. I believe your problem was a failed ICP sensor and the guys in the shop decided to go crazy with pulling stuff off and when you called them out, they really screwed you up by half *** replacing parts they removed.
