The truck was parked on an uphill angle for about 3 weeks. Would this maybe have caused the hpop oil level to become low (and thus hard to start)? That is my only guess other than the icp sensor going bad. When I first attempted to start the truck 4 days ago it started and immediately stalled 3 times in a row. Then it would only crank but not try to fire. So I pushed it into my shop and charged the batteries. Finally had time to mess with it today.
Stalling immediately after it started then only cranking does fit low oil in the HPOP, then low batteries from cranking. Next time you leave it parked for 3 weeks check the HPOP oil level first and see where it stands.
Friday report...............
Check the HPOP oil level it was the same as yesterday ,approx
1 3/4 inches down from the top of the res.
Trucked started fine.
Well, from what I have seen, that is a little low, but if it is holding at that level and starting good, then that could be ok. Since you have a new ICP coming and you know that the old one is leaking oil, by all means change it out. Drive it like you stole it for a while and see if anything shows up. Like I said 14 pages and 189 post ago, I think it was you ICP all along. So, since it looks like your gonna have about $3500.00 extra dollars,.........Well, if your not going to send me some of it, you might consider joining the ranks of Supportor. It don't cost much and you do get some benefits, mainly, no adds while on line. You get more posting and editing options as well, I think, Been a supporter so long, I don't remember. Just a thought, Glad things are looking good for you.
I was going to check the HPOP oil level in my 94 and when I went to take out the plug I see someone has been there before.
Its completley rounded inside from someone trying to use the wrong size wrench!
Yep, it could have, along with any other combination of IPR, low oil, loose or dirty connections. What ever the original problem was, the dealer missed it and decided to keep his mech. busy at your expense. The ICP is still going to be an issue at some point so change it out. Get your money back and in the future, give FTE a shot at repairing it before you see the Stealership.
