If you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page there is a guide to the 7.3 HPOP. It will explain what the different pieces do as well as where some of the O-rings are if they ever need to be replaced due to an oil leak.
Ok I got the truck and the $300 bill.
Here what they say they did ..........
scan test KOEO-pass
KOEC-P0381 PO603 Monitor Sensors RPM OK
VPWR-OK
ICP at 230 psi (needs 500 psi to start)
High pressure oil test block off heads test for leaks. Ok
Dead Hi-prepump still at 230 psi needs2500-3000 psi
Remove and test IPR-ok
Noticed ICPsensor leaking oil and connector contaminaited.
Push truck out of shop.
Is there oil in the HPOP reservoir? It should be within 1" of the top. Try unplugging the ICP and see if it starts then. I'll go look at my manual and see if I can come up with any more ideas.
I believe oil in the ICP sensor is a tell tale sign it is bad..... but not sure. Hopefully someone will verify this.
True, if the ICP has a pin hole in it, it can't read the pressures, Do like Chris said, unplug the ICP and see if it will crank. Won't run good, but should crank. It would be worth the gamble of replacing a $60.00 part before spending several thousand.
I'll stick with the recommendations in my last post. As for your trouble codes the 603 is a keep alive memory (KAM) error. Pretty common, especially if your batteries have been disconnected recently. The other code DTC P0381 is set when the PCM detects a malfunction in the glow plug indicator lamp circuit.
Does your wait to start light come on? This could just be a blown fuse for the dash light. Do you know where the ICP is to unplug?

It was a $170.00 from my local Ford dealer. I definitely agree with Chris unhook the ICP when my failed I unplugged it and the truck would start the SES light would stay on but it would run.
