Crewcab Only Thread.
Long time denter, only ever had regular and supercab trucks. I am now looking to get into my first Crew. I am looking for a restorable 78-79 F26 truck, if anyone has one in good restorable condition, please PM me, willing to pay current fair market value based on condition. Thanks!

There is a guy locally who has a cool daily driver Silver '73 F250 Crew. I was in my honda passport and was able to pull up alongside him at a stoplight, and upon asking, he hollered out "it's a '73", and Vrooom, he was off and gone. Typical red-headed red-neck with a Do-Rag of course in red.

I know where he lives !
Anyway, I restored my '77 way back '96-thru-98 completion. All drivetrain got rebuilt except the NP205 transfer case, and it got new seals.
As a result, driving my Crew Cabber has been like driving a New Pickup since 1998. I think now, near 25-years later I've logged around 40k miles.
I had come across a nice white F350 longbed Crew several weeks back, and did post the Craigslist ad it was in SoCal I think and 2wd to be converted to 4x.
That was a nice base pickup for around $15k. If I were looking, I'd have snagged it because the 2wd F350 crews were the only longbed chassis.
i'm guessing here, but think maybe Ford offered a longbed 4x4 Crew in the early 72-to-75 years ?
I went to high school with a fella who drove one, and I would swear his crew was a longbed, and it had a 300 inline Six.
That pickup gave me the inspiration to put a 300 in my '77 F350 longbed Crew. The 300 is a gutless wonder compared to a 429 or 460, but very dependable.

And sadly I just had to let go of my '74 F-250 4wd crew after trying to cling onto it for the last 4 years. Had it since '07 or so and made very good progress on it until '12 when I got married and had kids. Then all my time went away and progress mostly stopped. A bit off and on until '18. It went to a great home though, and I have 1st right of refusal if he ever sells, so I'm kind of hoping he finishes it for me and I get a chance to hang with her again later in life!
Oh, and I'm assuming the 2wd you saw for $15k and posted was white and in the San Diego area? I've seen that ad running for a while. I think his price might be a bit high. Or... I just let mine go for a bit too low

Don't feel bad, because when I had to sell my '66 Crew cab project, it about broke my heart because I knew i'd never have one again.
I do still have my '77 Crew pickup, and it took all my spare time and money at the time I re-furbed it. My wife got tired of looking at the '66 Crew incomplete.
It's a '78 F250 with a 460 and an automatic transmission, rear wheel drive obviously. There is a huge camper shell on the bed and the inside is covered with **** carpeting.... it also has a sunroof and about eight hundred thousand miles of wiring to all sorts of creature comfort switches. It also has a tag in the door with a serial number claiming the truck was built and sold by Holiday Rambler. I cannot find much information about this save for one other old post on one other old forum describing a similar truck and claiming they were apparently pretty rare. Has anyone heard of them?

Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
^^^^ There's the thread I started that has some pictures in it. Definitely a weird truck. How rare is it? And how bad should future me feel for tearing all that junk out of it/off of it?

I would swear my '77 F360 longbed Crewcab is 18-feet long (guessing).
So, your F250 would be a shortbox and so probably will measure 16-feet and something. Someone on the know will chime in.
Congratulations on your purchase.

the door window glass will exchange for both doors with a standard cab pickup.
The wheelbase should be the same whether 2-by or 4-by on the '78 F250 CrewCabs.
19' 3" with bumpers
You could probably shave 6 to 10 inches by removing the bumpers.
I looked at the Fordification website and it says 222.58 inches with no rear bumper. 150.3 wheelbase. It doesn't look like you will save any length by removing the front bumper
