Just bought my camper special .79000 org miles . We have replaced the whole fuel system .I'm still having problems. It ideals fine but when put in to gear back fires till you get it up to 45mph. My boyfriend is a chevy man and he is unsure where to go from here. Its a 400 with a 2 barrel carb.he thinks the lifters arent pumped up yet. Any ideas
Well, where to start! We will start at the end, for now. Yesterday, I just towed 2 trucks home. the first, 1979 crewcab 4wd, with a flat bed, 44 front,400,auto,NO RUST west coast truck, (guys,I wont get off topic,I promise) the second a 78 f250 reg.with the 60 front(yes really thats why i got this truck) 400 4 spd.
I could go on about the other trucks/broncos I have ,but i need some advise. I got the crew cab part of a package, its in fair condition, had intentions of selling it off to make up the $ spent on the package..................now............having 4 trucks total to play parts sway around, I could build the cool crew cab.........(i am already hearing it from the wife, lucky 4 me, no kids and we have horses)
Ok, who has made a long bed crew cab 77.5-79 truck (4wd) and can i just splice in a rear frame section from a 2wd regular cab? gosh, what am I doing?
I'm confused but maybe someone else will get what you are talking about.
Really? Ok, I have a 79 f250 4wd crew cab short bed. As is well known(or maybe not) Ford did not offer a long bed option for these trucks, so splicing in a long bed frame is a common practice. The real questions is can you use a 2wdlong rear se tionof frame?
Correct, Ford never made a crew cab longbed 4 x 4 in those years. Its very very common for people to strech them. You should have no problem. Anyone else wanting to do it just have to measure the width of the frame because 77.5 - 79 they widen the rear of the frame from 34" to 37"
