Haven't had any time to even take the heads out of the machine shop bags. My dad is in casper for work this week and hasn't touched it either. I am trying to get ready for a new job so I haven't had much time to work on it. Hopefully the last interview will be on monday and I can concentrate on finishing it up.
Fit the P51's today. The headers tubes are so small that they don't completely cover the ports on the heads. Looks like its time to build some big tube headers. The P51's also use different pushrods than the Kaase SCJ's so we need 8 new pushrods also. Looks like we might be ready in time to make Pinks All Out Denver in August
IM back to racing my truck, looks like i have another grand to spend to fis some valve train problems and get a new carb. My lifters are bleeding down on their own / not pumping up properly and the carb has internal vacuum leaks.. Ohhwell, last weekend i was talking about how i missed just racing my truck anyway. I think i am going to slow it down to run on street tires so i do not have to swap out my DOT slicks every time i race..That got to be a pain in the butt the last few years.

When we first started racing we used to drive the truck to douglas because we didn't have a trailer. When we got there we would switch out the street tires for the slicks, race all day and then drive home. Of course that was back when 91 octane was $1.55.
Got some push rods ordered yesterday. Crane is out of 3/8" push rod tubing and will be restocked in 4 weeks plus 5 days to get the push rods made and shipped. Called comp and they guaranteed delivery by Friday. It is still snowing in douglas so the track is still not paved and test and tune has been canceled so I think we will still be ok to make the new test and tune in 2 weeks.
Pushrods came today and I remembered to order a pair of seat belts finally. Got a pair from crow enterprizes. Put the headers back on and will finish the rest on saturday.

Kinda pricey, but they should do the trick and last for a whilie. Not to mention theyre like the only header i can find for a 77 f-150 4x4
BTW, nice truck man
nice looking headers. We bought a set of flanges with 2 1/8 stubs at a swap meet a few weeks ago to make a new set for it. Kinda short on cash right so we are going to have to run what we have for a while.
Got the old girl running again this morning. No leaks and no ill effects from the anti-freeze in the cylinder. Oil is clean and the filter is fresh. To wet from the monsoon to test drive until tomorrow. Going to finish the seat belt and the vent for the fuel cell and should be ready for next weekends first race.
