Had a few scares early in the day. Filled the radiator up with water and it poured out of the back intake bolt. Put some thread tape on it to solve that problem. Also had a wiring bug that wouldn't allow power through the volt gauge. Only a small tranny cooler leak to tighten up.
Must have too much practice with the distributor because we dropped it in and it fired right up. Going to try to get the seat in tomorrow and go for a test drive after a call to the sheriffs office. It is quite loud with only three feet of 3" pipe and turndowns.
The really good news is that they are starting to repave the track we run at next weekend.
Almost got the ole truck race ready today. Filled the radiator with antifreeze now that all the leaks are handled. Installed the new carpet from Nifty Products. Does not fit well at all but good enough for a race car. Put the new seat in and reinstalled the shifter. Just need to put the hood back on, install the little carpet trim/drip rails, change the oil and the fluid for the locker.
Sorry about the video. The camera guy(me) was a little anxious and it was really windy outside.
I like how you tucked in the rear wheels , looks much better and sounds great , good luck at pinks , I watch it evertime , let us know when you are racing please . There was a lady runnin a 60 s ford truck at pinks and she won all out , it was white with fuel injection , that was awesome .

Tucking the rear wheels let us lower it about 7 inches in the rear. The Pinks event is Pinks All Out Denver on August 9th. So I still have plenty of chances to blow the motor before then.
good luck at pinks hope you run in the low 10's high nines. In lousinana they took 9.8 cars. Hope you make the cut for the final 16
I heard at the Pinks All Out they just filmed last weekend in Florida that they took an 11.40 class.
We were kind of contemplating putting in a low compression junk yard 460 with our victor intake with a bunch of nitrous just for Pinks to save the engine that we just built. We might blow up and not make the show but I can almost be certain that if the explosion was impressive our truck would definitely get some tv coverage.

Sounds like a man with a plan I would be interested just how much nitrous the big motors can take stock

That truck had an injected big block chevy in it.
MWVDUB, truck is looking good and sounding great. When are you planning on the first pass?

First pass should be May 17th at test and tune day in Douglas. Going to go for a test drive on Saturday and see if we can work out some bugs. I am pretty sure that with the small headers and 895 cfm carb that it will be far from full potential but all that takes is more money.
