Matt,

I called myself the FIRST liar! ...that gave you the opportunity to one-up me! LOL

All in fun...I know...that's what it is all about...

as far as what happened...this will be a good campfire chat over many beers...I've got a few scars to share if you like (all in appropriate places)...I mean when we swim...I can't hide them...

And I didn't mean to slam George...Nick made me...really!...he's smarter than he looks!

Great medical must be an understatement and great company.

Hell, no one's ever picked me up in a jet. Granted, I've never had 14 surgeries either...is that a requirement?

So, since you can't lift anything heavy, do you sit down when you pee?

Like someone said, if it's true, it's not bragging

A friend of mine once said to another friend that was short and always bragging about his "bigun"

Dude, it's not that it's big, your legs are so damn short they make it look bigger

OK guys, let's get back on track and line up all of the facts (I wonder if we should start yet another thread for the meet - "Final Plans")...
  1. Place: Gatlinburg, TN
  2. Time: Friday, August 1st - Sunday August 3rd
    • This is the 'offical' dates - people can come and go at will
Now for the 'tenative' items:
  1. We're looking at Great Somky Jellystone Camp Resort for a campground
    • They have a covered meeting area that could be used for a 'gathering'
    • They are offering a discount if you mention the Excursion Meet and they'll try to keeps all together (based on RV size... size does matter! Joe and I have big'uns!)
  2. Other Campgrounds?
  3. No hotels have been offered up yet
  4. Other options? Events? Suggestions?
Please feel free to offer corrections to the above that may be incorrect (except for the absolute fact about Joe and I)

Mark,

Excellent post...I was thinking last night before I rested in my arm chair that we NEED to focus...so thank you...

The 'only' thing I can see as negatives of Jellystone and we need others inputs is that they only have 14 sites for BIG'UN's...ie 35' TT's and over...they have LOTS of shade trees (hey they are in the freakin forest here)...

So depending on HOW MANY people we think will be 'attending'...may determine if this is a viable option...I DO LIKE THIS PARK as the owners are very friendly when I call and very helpful...

So do we have a 'swag' (silly wild *** guess) as to HOW MANY may be attending?

I know I've heard from 7-8 folks personally outside of THIS forum that are interested (all Ex or SD owners)...most of my buds have decent sized rigs like Mark and I...(I'm talking trailers here as I have no personal knowledge of anything else...LOL)

So I think we can likely TAKE THIS PLACE OVER WITH FORDS...which would be totally cool!!!

Does anybody really care where we go?...if Mark and I just pick a freakin spot is everybody okay with it?...

The only other thing that someone could view as 'negative' that I view as 'positive' is the location...this place gives you back road access to avoid the tourist traffic jams if desired...If you have never experienced downtown Gatlinburg...WE WILL AS A GROUP...but it su@ks and I couldn't imagine pulling my TT thru there!!! Once when I was riding my RoadKing thru Pigeon Forge...I got 'hit' with something thrown from the back of a pickemup...I was riding with two other buds...so here I am kickstand down middle of 4 lanes of traffic BANGING on the window of a pickemup...needless to say nobody OPENED any doors or windows...traffic is BAD...so this place lets us unload the rigs and just lumber there with the buses!...so that's why I view it as a plus...

So we need some INPUTS from people...FOCUSED inputs! LOL

I would like to call wherever we choose and get a 'block' of sites BEFORE I go under the knife...so my goal would be to block sites by Friday 12/7...gotta have a plan or nothing will get done...

On the shirts...if we are gonna let our sports car convertible brethren join in (the SD's)...should we be sensitive to shirts showing say just the grill of a SD?...just a thought...a big blue ovaled chromed front end...(insert tim allen grunting here)...?...like this!

Just some thoughts...

Let's focus on the CG FIRST and then shirts...

joe.

They have 14 sites for rigs OVER 35'...they 'claim' they can handle up to 40' motorhomes in these larger sites...

They have just under 90 sites total but many of them are pop-up sized ones...the more I think about this...I'm getting nervous that this one may be too small for our BIG'UNs...thoughts?

Barring any unforseen circumstances (I win the Georgia lottery, the Chicago Bears actually win the Superbowl, etc.), I'll be there!
