I'm not sure this can be a few words...but I'll try ...
In 2004 I was in a near life ending motorcycle wreck in Denver CO. I spent 3+ months in a level 1 trauma center 1200 miles from home...initial 'odds' they gave me a 1% chance of waking in ICU...I did...
I sustained massive interal abdominal injuries...severed liver, split stomach from intestines, and the like...
I endured 14 surgeries out in Denver.
My company sent a G6 Gulfstream corporate jet to fly my wife and I home to Indiana (great company...huh!)
I had surgery 15 here in Fort wayne to actually CLOSE my abdomin as I was still open when I left Denver...
Over the course of the near 3 years since that last surgery...I have developed 'multiple' tears in my abdominal wall (hernias)...this surgery will basically recut the same ~10" incisional site from the last surgery and this time insert surgical mesh to strenghten the abdominal wall (hopefully)...
So I'll be getting gutted like the fish I catch once again!...this happens on December 13 and I'll be in the hospital for ~4-5 days and off work 6-8 WEEKS!!!...
