You are exactly right...those NOT following this have no FREAKIN idea what is planned...we've been kinda f-in off a little...okay A LOT!
But what is planned/decided right now and will likely be firmed up within the week is the following.
Where = Gatlinburg area
When = Friday July 25th to Sunday July 27 would be the 'official' weekend...
Others like myself would likely spend a week...and I'm planning to avoid pulling in or out on a weekend so I'm planning Wed July 23 to Wed July 30...maybe Thursday...
How long = Well that one is yet to be determinied...like above...the likely 'official' time would be a weekend...but I suspect with how far folks are coming...most will stay more than that.
I'm working to select a CG that fits our needs...Big R is kind of local to that area and has graciously offered to do a drive by/in of the couple of CG's I've narrowed the choices to.
Once we hear from him as to how they look...we will let everyone know.
The 'tricky' part would be folks would have to call and book pretty quickly as the CG will only hold an area for a little while...but I've selected a couple of CG's that should allow some later comers to the party to at least get into the CG with us.
Cabins are also available at the CG's for those without trailers.
So you are 100% correct...this IS a hard thread to follow...once we announce the 'official' rally spot...we'll start a new thread to help clarify what the heck we have planned.
I'm getting ahead of myself there...but...
I'd like to have all the attendees that book supply an email addy so we can communicate via one distribution list and get an idea of who all is coming.
We will have some group events to plan (drives, pot-luck meal, shirts to order, and the like)...so having everyone's info would be much easier to communicate with.
The 'official' rally chairperson is Guiri (George)...I'm just helping select the campground as someone that camps and has insight into what makes for a good campground...I volunteered...Mark Moore has been an ENORMOUS help too as he put together the google map of all the 'possible' campgrounds.
