Excursion Meet Poll 4
Beth here, I have very good friends that live in Gatlinburg and they have one home with lots of land. I can check with them and see what's around or maybe they would be willing to let us camp on their land. VERY NICE VIEW!!!!!
Everyone else be damned and I wouldn't have to worry about people freaking out over my little dog (140LB)

Beth - I like the idea the of staying on your friends land, but we need to consider power. My family likes 'camping', as long as we have h2o & electricity. We've never 'dry camped' and I don;t see my wife being too enthusiastic about it... taht being said, I'm not ruling it out - free camping is good. Oh, and I like the T-Shirt idea!
Joe - if we don't stay on Beth's friends property, then maybe we can find a cg near a nice hotel, but one that also have no-site cabins - giving yet another option for those that want to stay.
NICKIE {in a drawn out Italian, 'Rocky Balboa', voice} whas up wit chu & your attitude?
{i think we found a soft spot with Nick to totally expolit}

Yeah the forum database last night (pre 11pm for us old f-er's)...wasn't letting me in...
But I too like free camping...but power would be my hold up...I can deal and do with using my holding tanks...BUT would have to DUMP before traveling home...having 75 gallons of poop and shower water...well...that don't make for easy towing! LOL
I've found a few campgrounds around Pigeon Forge that have both cabins and campsites...this way non RV-rs can stay in the same place and drink as much as I do and not have to drive! LOL
So great minds think alike!...
I was thinking Pigeon Forge only because of the strip there and stuff to do at night without doing too much driving...Dolly wood is right there...etc...Plus Gatlinburg is only about 10 minutes away...Smokie Mountain NP is right there...
Anyone ever stay at any http://www.stayriveredge.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&Itemi d=28
Or http://www.claboughcampground.com/index.html
Or the KOA there http://www.pigeonforgekoa.com/
Or http://www.foothillsrvparkandcabins.com/campsites.html
I've been selecting ones based on cabins for others too...
I'm checking with my good friend from Charlotte...I think he has stayed in this area before...not sure though...
What's everyone think about Pigeon Forge area?...this area would allow non-campers to have varied hotels really close too...
Getting too far away from everyone is great for us RV'rs but those that need hotels...well that ain't so great...just a thought...
I'm down for where-ever...just trying to throw out some options...
We'll have to put the PSD's down wind though!
So pretty this time of year!! Hey I could get my christmas tree at the same time!!!
Beth
Arrow Creek Campground - looks nice, good rates and they have cabins.
I found a few others that looked good, but no cabins.
I noticed that a few cgs mentioned a city trolley service that provides transportation into Pigeon Forge, Dollywood and the shopping areas - that would also be nice plus. I've heard that parking in the area can be a real PITA... for our hugh beasts, it would be even more difficult.
