Edge owners: Tuning thread
'm new to this site and just want to tell everyone hi and this website rocks!!!!!!!!

My Edge will not retain any of its settings when I do a custom tune, especially the important ones. I always have to reset the tires circumference. The speedo is way off from the GPS, not cool. Not only is the speed off, but it changes the actual mileage of the truck. Also, when I do a custom tune, it only works at the time it set it. If I turn the truck off, it goes to stock Tune 2 when I restart. I like to bump the shift settings, firmness, and top speed. I don't want to have to upload a new file everytime I start the truck to use my settings. I'm hope its a simple fix, and I did an update a couple of months ago. I know, someone will say do an update, but I have a feeling that it won't cure it, it didn't fix it with the last one.
I called Edge twice and left a message but nobody has returned my calls yet.

Have you tried E-mailing them. They responded quickly to my E-mail and were very helpful in solving my problem. I'm sure there is alot of you that don't like E-mail, but it worked for me.
Be sure to give them your HEX code and Edge version #.

After doing a lot of research I decided to go with the Edge mainly because I liked the idea of the gauges and the ability to adjust. I have had the Edge on my 1997 5.4 4x4 (231789 miles without any major repairs) for over 10,000 miles and am extremely satisfied, it made a huge difference in the way the truck handles in fact I have never made any other single modification that made a more noticeable difference. The gages and built in reader have saved me lots of hassle on numerous occasions and there customer service is phenomenal.
For Example: On 03-10-07 I was on my way back from Missoula Mt. and when I got to Cheyenne WY. I decided to tweak my level 3 program and increase my Timing to adjust for altitude again, and did a very stupid thing, I started the truck while it was still updating, well to make a long story short I locked up the Programmer and destroyed my pcm files so of Corse my truck wouldn't start, I tried everything I knew of to reset the truck and the programmer to no avail. I called the local Ford dealer and after listening to the lecture on how bad any type of tuner or chip mod was and that more than likely I had fried the computer they told me that it would cost me at least $100 and more likely closer to a $1000 to either reflash or replace the PCM/CPU. I didn't like either option. Maybe because the whole conversation with the Ford guys had heated my blood I finally woke up and started thinking and called Edge technical support and talked to Nate Halliday who asked me if I had any way to connect to the internet Fortunately I had my Laptop with me and was able to connect to the internet via the truck stops wifi, so Nate had me connect the Edge to my laptop and unlocked it sent me the basic Ford files walked me through the reflashing procedures and got me back on the road.
I had forgotten how much difference the Edge made since I almost always leave it on level 3 until I drove it up to Denver on the stock settings. Once in Denver I reprogrammed it to Level 3 again and had my 8000 pound Sports car back and rediscovered my love of this truck and Edge

Of course chewing up the new 2 weel drive Hemi, while I am driving an old 4x4 Ford might have something to do with it.
1.)P0138 (hos512 circuilt high voltage)
2.)P2271 Sensor Signal Stuck Rich Bank1 Sensor 2.
I'm more worrried about this second one. I returned the truck to stock and the warning light went off. I was running Level 2 on my Edge, with no changes made to the timing. Now I haven't downloaded a new version from Edge since last summer (right after I installed it) do you think this could be a fix for it. Or do you think I should contact Edge?
