OK, so the Transmission code is Q (?????), axle code is B6 (3.73 LS). Turning off OD helps, & I don't want to use the trannie as a brake if it'll damage it.

Bringing this back!

i got an edge for my 2004 4.6. i love it. What im trying to do is get my truck to kick down a gear while going up a hill. If im cruisin along in overdrive, and i hit a hill and start up, if the RPMS are too low it dogs up the hill untill the RPMS get low enough and it kicks down or i floor it and it kicks down. When it does kick down it feels like a boost of nitrous and it takes off. Is there a way i can set my edge to kick down to get up a hill at a higher RPMS so the difference in the kick down isnt so great that its a real kick in the butt when it downshifts?

You understand what im saying?

Well I think you will get this, if you run the 91+ tune. Which tune are you running now?

I have played with level 1 and level 2. The only thing i have changed was softening the shifts by 1 so its not so much of a kick in the pants.

So what i think is happening is that OD isnt letting go until the RPMS get real low going up hill loosing momentum. Because if im in the middle of the hill and hit the OD Offf button it continues to climb the hill fine. Is there a place in the edge to tell the truck to kick it out of OD at a certain RPM or something like that?

Hello all, this is my first post on this thread. My friend has a f150 V8 and asked me if performance custom tuning is available for his truck. I told him I would try to find out. Is the Edge an off the shelf one size fits all or is it a chip tuned for specific applications? On my 7.3L diesel I run the DP Tuner that can be switched on the fly to the tune deemed best for conditions.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, the Edge CS and CTS have canned tunes; 87 tranmission only, 87 towing, and 93 performance.

The CS and CTS can be custom tuned by Power Hungry Performance.

It is not shift on the fly.

Thanks Charlie. So it programs your PCM rather than a chip?

That's correct, Bill.

It's also locked to the VIN (can only be used on one truck at a time).

i think level two is for mid grade (89 oct) due to timing bumps

your right i miss read the owners manual
Tow Performance Program (87+ octane fuel)
This setting not only provides improved transmission shifting, but will also
modify the ignition timing and fuel injection strategies to improve the
performance of your vehicle. This level is designed to run with 87 octane
fuel, although you may realize additional benefits by running 89 octane (or
better) fuel. You should see an improvement in fuel economy as well as
added horsepower and torque. When towing a heavy load such as a boat or
camper, we recommend you using this setting.

Paul, you need to measure the circumference in millimeters. My 265/70 17 measure 2521mm. That's what you inter into the Edge.
