turncad, have you checked the fuse? One doesn't affect the others (or shouldn't).

I got my lock to work, but now my outside handle is not engaging the latch mechanism so we cannot open the door from the outside. Works fine from the inside, still, so the latch is OK, but I can't figure out what the problem is with the outside handle. Anyone have any ideas?

How many fuses are they?

I have looked at mine. Did you remove your outside handle? YOu forgot to connect something. There is a hook that connects from the outside handle to the lock mechanism. If your confused take the other side off.

The only thing I did with the outside handle was to flip open the green clip to get the latch assembly out. The green clip holds the rod for the outside latch. When I was finished, I reattached it like it was (there's only one way for it to go). The handle moves the rod, but the latch is not being engaged. I've compared the two sides (a few times now) and found nothing obviously different. I'll try again later this week, but I'm open to suggestions about how the outside handle engages the latch. Is there another piece I'm missing?

Thanks

I hope you didn't take the latch out and both sides should be identical.

Yes, since this was my first PDL change, I did remove the latch by following the pictures and write-up by Cuinart. I know how the PDL module comes out without taking the latch out now, but not at the time. I just can't figure out what piece I missed when reassembling (twice now) that is preventing the outside handle from doing it's job of unlatching. I'll try to find some time this week to compare the two sides again to see what I missed, but it's not obvious from what I can see.

I found it pretty easy to do without taking the latch out but I was a mechanic for 10 years also. Just using the right tools; long skinny screwdriver, small mirror with handle, long needlenose pliers, and small flashlight can make a big difference. Any mechanic will tell you; "the less you remove, the easier it goes".

I have changed the mechanism in the drivers door like everyone said.(taken motor out and repaired with cut out piece of metal)
Nothing has changed..

Note: When pushing the switch on the drivers door there is a click under the dash. I have previously changed the relay and fuse.. Again nothing is happening here. I can go to the passenger side, and the same happens..

Suggestions?
Are ALL lock actuators burnt up???
Thanks

Did the same thing on me. I took it back apart and reinstalled it. I took off all bolts, and the door handle out side. Leave elec cables hooked up. Press the unlock button, made sure the outside key lock was unlock and then I installed it back. Lock and then unlock and mine got back on track. You must have locked or unlocked somthing on the way. You want every thing unlocked when you install it. You can compare ot the other side.

It's very possible they are all burned out but the ones you fixed should work. The less you take apart the better off you are. I never took any handles off and I left much of the mechanism intact also. Like I said above; you can use another door for a reference.

Nothing is working..I did cut the metal out and placed it in the motor housing removing the existing one.. I then used the soldering gun to connect the pieces together.

So what about the sound under the dash?
Any ideas? Thanks
