I just bought a 78 F350 Supercab XLT Camper Special with 460/C6.
Factory Air, Cruise Control
Dual Tanks
Factory Hood Lock
Original interior in good shape
Rear bench seat
All original parts boxed up (AM radio, air filter breather, etc.)
Looking for someone who can do a full restoration on this vehicle. Time constraints keep me from tackling most of it myself. I love old Fords and need someone who can do it right. Email cellcounter@hotmail.com
I have a 78 F250 4x4. In the process of swapping out the 400 for a 351m that is fresh.
Someday I want to get 6 inch lift with 38's. Also will build a nice stroked 460 for it.
Will get pictures of it when I get it put back together.
Anyway, a lot of you have probably seen my truck before around the forum, but here's it condensed
Picked up my '79 for $650, and it had one piston shattered (and as I later found out, a 2 inch long crack in the cylinder wall..)
5 months after I brought it home, when I started working on it
After the engine swap
Purdy new engine
All back together
Roughly what it looks like now
I was 14 when I bought the truck, and I'm 16 now. Unfortunately, when I bought the truck I didn't realize how much gas it would use, how much gas would be, and how much money I wouldn't have. So my truck just sits around while I do work on it. Hasn't run since June, and hasn't moved since July Maybe someday I'll have enough money to drive it
Well lads and ladies, I just read the entire "supercabs" thread and I must say I sure hope I land this 78 F-150 4x4 I'm eyeballing! It's goin to be quite the adventure tinkering with this classic over the next few years. Good thing too is that up here in Ontario you dont need to worry about emissions tests on these oldies so I'm free to do to her as I please (if I get it). Should know in about a week.
