At the make level, Ford continues to retain the highest percentage of its consumers with 57.5 percent of its buyers remaining loyal. Ford has enjoyed the top seed in the make category since 1996.
Dmax-Hd: Are you reffering to my post?
Bear in mind that I am not talking about diesel trucks (if that makes any difference). Just my own observations. I live in rural Okla., where pickups are commonly used as work trucks. Plus we have a camper and go camping alot. The general consensus around here is that Chevy trannies will NOT hold up to heavy towing. And I know several people who have found that out the hard way.
are you talking about Chevy transmissions, or Allison transmissions being junk.
If Chevrolet, I would not argue with you, If Allison, I would have to definitely say you are wrong. Allison transmission is a top notch transmission. I think several non-biased posters in this forum would agree with me on this point. This is one instance I give Chevy credit, they couldn't build a good tranny so they bought one.
Man who cares of who builds who or what goes wrong there trucks they come with problems, by the time you guys are done agrueing over Chevy vs. Ford the Nissan and Toyota boys will be ahead of the pack already the tundra is getting a hp gain. GUY'S GET OVER IT THERE TRUCKS WITH DIFFERENT NAMES IM SURE HENRY FORD AND THE CHEVROLET BROTHERS ARE TURNIN IN THERE GRAVES RITE NOW. I drive a ford cause i can "MY CHOICE JUST AS EVERYONE ELSE HAS THERE'S"...HAVE A NICE DAY
Boy this turned into a nasty little thread.. But i did have to counter this point. about Chevy/GM being on the bottom. Let see here Gm #3, Chevy #4, and Ford #16. Not even in the top ten....

The top seed of what? Pickups ? GM is the largest auto maker in the world.
Hey Dmax-HD this is a nice link here. I enjoy the comments of the people owning these trucks. It gives you an insight into them. Thanks for the link there. E mail me if you have any other things I might be interested in.
you actaully pointed that site out to me at 1 time. I find it a good source of non-biased information..

That link did not prove anything. If you notice, that is based on the number of hits to that particular model who actually responded. Think of how many who looked and didn't respond, or who b/s'd just to tick somebody off??
But obviously you didn't look at #1 or #2.

#1 and #2 only had 2 reviews where as #4 has 26 reviews. The F-150 had 76 reviews and it was #26. Now, do you really think that that many people would rate a vehicle badly just to tick off a total stranger? I dont think so.
