This is going to be my last post. I'm telling you the truth. planetary gears and clutches are interchangable from E40D and C6. Rear half of E40D is almost identical to C6. aka...E40D is like a C6 with overdrive. That's pure facts! ask any Ford Engineering!
How about this...Look up in Ford Motorsport Catalog. Look into Trans section and find planetary gears for C6 trans and read the description!
I've done that rebuild and swapped E40D planetary gears into C6 trans over hundred times.
it is also same thing with GM 4L80E trans. it is like Turbo 400 with overdrive. their parts are interchangable.
I still think that that information is flawed. The C6 was vacuum controlled, the E40D was computer controlled. The parts might can be swapped in, but the original design is nothing close.
People would buy Chevy if there were no Gmc. I have a couple of friends who, at the time, did not like the 2003 chevy body style. They were Chevy guys, they bought GMC. Now, they wish they had bought the Chevy because they have gotten used to the new body style and the 2003 GMC looks old. They bought Gmc, never considered Ford or Dodge.
That's your friends. They do not represent everyone that buys new trucks. I know some people that buy GMC because they won't buy anything that says Chevrolet. I know, that's kind of pointless, but so is buying a GMC or a Chevy.

That is a lot of people. Gmc sales were good in early 2003 and Chevys were off. Chevy loyalists were buying GMC because they didn't like the new body style.
Vehicles should be treated like you'd treat a fine women...A beautiful Women whether shes black, brown or white is a beautiful luscious women. A Beautiful well constructed pleasing vehicle regardless of its make is still a nice vehicle. I dare any of you on either side of the fence to diss a '68 Camaro, or a '67 Mustang or a '71 HemiCuda, Stop the biased madness and Judge a vehicle on its individual merits not the shape of its badging. Spread the love for the automotive industry in general.... and remember Muscle Cars are meant to be restored not crushed.

Ok, I'll diss them. The Camaro and the HemiCuda there have substandard engines, substandard drivetrains and probably will never see the end of a 1/4 mile strip without needing some serious engine work. Oh, yeah, and they're both playing catch-up to the Mustang, too. They ain't called `ponycars` because it all started with Camaros, I tell you.

They are playing catch up with the mustang??? The Mustang has NEVER dominated street racing ever. While Ford excells at trucks, they have never quite understood the street wars......the Mustang was always lagging behind the Camaro, Heck, even the 6 banger 2000 models of the camaro would take out the underpowered GT.
The Mustang was out before the Camaro, so it wasn't even a thing of public interest until Ford brought muscle cars to the limelight. It wasn't lagging behind the Camaro in 1965. Also, I believe that the stock SCJ powered Mustangs were faster than the stock Camaros of the same time.
Nothing against the Mustang but...brought muscle cars to the "limelight", let me name a few muscle cars that came before the mustang....Chevelle, Dart, Nova, The all mighty GTO, Oldsmobile 442, Cuda. These cars were all out before the mustang, so in no way did Ford start or were the first to bring public attention to muscle cars with the mustang. They however did add to the golden age of cars before that with such beauts as the fairlane and galaxie. But mustang no... And the stock mustangs were not faster than the stock camaros. The Camaro Z28 won the 1968 and 69 Trans-Am Championships 1st Gen Camaros consistinetly beat 60's Mustangs, That isn't a boast its a fact. Thats your stock Camaro, if you want to get into COPOS and Yenko's with all aluminum 427's thats a whole nother story which im leaving out cause were not mentioning Shelby either. Also the first Camaro debuted in 1967 not 65. If you want to start talking about "bad" muscle cars do we need to mention the embarssment to the industry that is the 80's mustang.
I'll say this, I've dealt with chevy trucks for years, I've NEVER liked the Vortec engines because I cant work on them myself without $500000 worth of special tools in my shop.
I'm a ford guy, have been since I was little wont be anything else unless chevy cleans up the quality of their trucks and starts bolting the door hinges on instead of spot welding them.
Chevy trucks are built for moderate service and fleet use, although the US army did use them in the 80's and again in the mid 90's as military vehicles with camo paint and all the standard army gear.
Dodge trucks are built for working, although not as well built as the Ford models. The dodge seems to have this cheap hemi engine that I cant believe is actually selling.
Ford though, is the #1 seller for excellant reason, smart workers KNOW that they can trust their ford to be there when they need it most, which is when the job gets really hard and a rugged truck is necessary. Chevy just cant do this, nor can dodge.
Ford has always had their standards set quite high, the trucks I've seen are quite tough and withstand the test of time. I've got a 1940 1/2ton Ford that will prove they withstand the test of time, its all original, right down to the pistons, and will run, after I hook up the fuel tank and get a sending unit in the thing, but it WILL run and stay running.
Its something I seek in a vehicle, not to bash a name brand, chevy makes some nice cars, as does ford, and dodge, but I look for the durability and solidly built truck that will take whatever beating I can dish out and come back for more instantly, plus the truck that will last me the longest time before I have to even do any serious repairs.
The bottom line is ford always has been and always will be my vehicle of choice for the rigid standards they set and meet on every vehicle they've ever made, except for the Taurus and 80's mustangs with the pathetic V6 and 4 cylinder engines, thats no mustang its a crapmobile from somewhere unpleasant.
