I really appreciate the time and effort you put in on this thread. Sounds like you really put a lot of time and thought into the programming of the SMT also. I like the way you address everyone's concerns and issues, so this goes a long way in supporting the SMT, even if it is "unofficially". I think I have already made my mind up about which tuner to buy, but I am waiting for the dyno results to come in. Driveablity with the tuner is just as big as a concern with me as overall performance, and it sounds like you have that programmed into the SMT.
If you every need any cold weather testing done on the SMT, Fairbanks, Alaska is where most of the auto and airplane manufactures go. I usually get to see all the new sports cars, SUV's, and trucks during the winter undergoing testing. Ford even did the cold weather testing on the 6.0 here. If you'd provide a tuner free of charge, I'd be willing to do the testing for free. Of course, I would have to take immediate delivery of the SMT now and establish a good baseline over the summer months

Hi: I am new to the list but just recieved my 1704 today for my 2/04 build date 6.0. I pluged it and everything went fine till it said "contact Superchips error *** " the date on the SCT was 4-29-04 . I contacted SCT and tech said that I needed to send it in for an update! They said they would pay for postage. I just hope this is not a sign of things to come. Any one else have this problem?. We will see how good there support is, I said I need it back by the weekend.

Filled my tank yesterday after 250 miles of mostly city with a bit of highway driving in the high performance tune mode. My city driving was mostly 4 miles each way to/from work up/down a pretty good sized hill. The highway driving on a two lane state highway about 35 miles each way up/down a couple good hills between Carlsbad and Ramona.
Also included in the tank were a couple of full throttle accelerations and other odd bits of stomping on it thrown in, but for the most part I tried to drive as normal.
The hand calculated mileage was 12.9 mpg. This is about what I usually get doing just the commute to work. I figure that since the tank was mostly the short commute driving, that the few bits of hard acceleration probably cancelled the highway driving.
It would be nice to take a 100 mile interstate trip and back just to see what the highway mileage will be in the performance mode. All in all, so far I'm pretty pleased with the driveability and performance of the SMT.
I still think they are two experienced ringers trying to spoil our balance. The reason I made the "rare 5 speed" comment is because one wrote he had a 5 speed stick in the beginning. Neither one knows much about 6.0s and both come in with the same problem on the same day, a problem we have never heard of.
