I thought I read some post that said they shifted fine ???
The 1704 raised the part throttle shift points. They say that 3rd gear shift point needs to be lowered.

Vic,
I tried the tuner in the tow-mode with my 5th wheel (10,000lbs). I experienced what seemed to be severe transmission slippage in second and third gear (automatic 5spd). This occured while under acceleration uphill. (crossing Hoover Dam) I returned the truck to stock and did not experience this again. Any thoughts? Anyone else experience this?

Give SC a call in the AM......talk with them about your concerns.

Aparently Vic had more input at SC about this because he made a point in one of his posts that they would change it.

hey guys i've been reading most of this thread but it sure is long. I see that the shifting is a problem with the superchip tuner, but does anyone have the superchip in a standard tranny rig?? if so how do they like the power??? I am looking to buy one in a couple days so i really would like to know how people are liking it. i dont' care about shift problems becuase i have a 6speed manual.

Not a problem, some like a different shift point.

greetings all:

as my user name states, i am a newbee with an 04 f250 psd and scmt. I too noticed rough shifting in economy mode at lower speeds. I called superchips about it and told them that i only run econ because i don't have guages. They told me to load the tow and performace program to see if it did the same thing. Well, I did and noted the tow and performance shifted much smoother. I absolutely love the performace mode though. Me being a moron hot rodded around for a couple days in that setting without guages or exhaust. Man can that truck move though! I haven't towed with my scmt yet. So I call them back and let them in on my findings. They gave me an RA# and told me there was a fix out. Sent the tuner back today and should recieve it next week sometime and will let you know how it works.

anyone know if the horsepower or torque will be affected with this update? or will it retain its current level with smoother shifting?

thanks
