Perhaps I will get my F450 by Christmas after all!
I love the rhetoric in their speech. I could just hear the repetitiveness. They may have been saying Ford, Stellantis, and GM, but they were really saying Tesla, Toyota, and other manufactures because that is their real target.
So for all those against the union, this is the way I am perceived.
You're telling me you've never fought for your job, your security, your livelihood. You've never earned it, That's what I'm getting out of it.
That's what the brothers and sisters of UAW did, they walk out, stood pick a line not knowing if they would have a job to return do.
Meanwhile, keyboard warriors call them all kinds of names, implied multiple times they were useless, immigrants can do their jobs, train monkeys and do their jobs.
At the end of the day, they are winning, and you will buy there product.
Prior to the start of the strike, Ford issued they were raising prices, and of course any price increase will be blamed on the strike.
So if Ford decides to close down a plant, the union members have a right to strike all plants, they did not have that before.
Why must it be in another country? Can't wait to see it outsourced to machine. Definitely not today, maybe not tomorrow but it's going to be a thing sooner or later.

If I don’t like the terms of my employment, I will quit and go somewhere else…or not apply to that job in the first place.
I bet there were quite a few UAW workers who were happy and comfortable with their pay and benefits before they were told to walk out.

Maybe, maybe not. I bought a new 4Runner this year after waiting three years for a chance to order a Bronco to no avail.
My 17 year old canadian built Crown Victoria still runs fine, but since there are no more Ford sedans, my next full size sedan will probably be a Toyota or Lexus. As Ford passenger car options dwindled we went from all Fords to two Fords and three Toyotas. By the time our panther gets replaced, the only Ford we own will be my 22 F250, assuming it still runs and replacement parts can still be found.
Well, let’s see how the other 2 make out. I was Leaning towards not buying ford anymore mainly because of their Chinese battery company fiasco and their refusal to stop using cp4.

What is the issue against the battery? As I see it, if it costs me $500 to make it here and I can get it for $250,isn't it good a decision?

they were bringing a cccp owned company to partner with here on US soil. They got major backlash and since back peddled. One thing to start a factory in that crap hole and build stuff to export but it’s another thing to let them operate here. Probably our biggest adversary, and the worlds.
Your right, I believe it was 3% voted not to strike. And I sure had some reserve on walking out due to job security.
If you and a coworker were unhappy (for various reasons) two walk out, would your company come to a grinding stop?
Let's say after 30 years, they said they will not support retirement anymore, You are on your own. What would you and a coworker(s) do?
It's good thing you don't have to be union to go on strike against your employer. In the past, many non-union employees in the past have.
At the same time, if I’m happy with my job, why should Lazy Larry and Stoner Steve vote to strike, and force me out of work on $500/wk pay for who knows how long? Maybe I won’t have a job to go back to?
I don’t have to hold a gun to my employers head, because they pay well and have good benefits…enough so that we are not union. My company in our bordering state of WV is union however, and they are paid much less than we are. Imagine that.

Yes but IMO, a company should be focused on making money and not cater to the political crap whether it is about China or some inclusive crap like Victoria's Secret
