Lol. They better hope the deal goes through. I talked to my kid yesterday (he delivers to lap and ktp) and asked how ford was doing, he said they are not doing much. His hours are cut and ford is canceling orders. I thought everything was hunky dory. The uaw line people just aren’t performing. Guess they mad.
if I had a truck on order I would cancel. This is not the atmosphere you want it built. Even if the deal goes through the line workers will not be 100%. Nothing better than a unhappy parts installer. It will keep dealers service departments busy.

Yeah it sounds like the worst possible environment, disgruntled workers assembling trucks. I thought all this mess was behind us. Ford said last week they plan to get quality back up to where it should be for their top vehicles, in 2025!
My order XLT with just a few typical options still scheduled for this week. But seems it may take a heck of a lot longer with only 1 shift going this week or 2 next week right?
The way it looks is the strike caused all the parts subcontractors(non uaw) to shut down, now they can’t get up and running. Plus it sounds like the employees want more. Pretty big mess.

I wouldn’t be in a big hurry. And I would go over it with a fine toothed comb upon delivery.
Run the place like Toyota runs the Georgetown Assembly down the road. No more, no less.
Why the heck can Toyota make some of the most reliable vehicles they sell here without a hitch with a similar worker pool?
You would have to get the workers to decertify the UAW... I dont see that happening, although, like every union I am sure there are a few that are constantly beating that drum and most people roll their eyes and walk away.
MOST people who work in unions are overall happy with their situation, mostly because most people who go work a union job know its union before hand. Some even seek out union jobs.
It only ever seems like outsiders who have never worked a union job are the ones that are mad at the unions.

Interesting take. Consider that UAW membership peaked in the 1970s and today it's a little more than 1/4 of its peak size even counting all those college career student "members". Yes, a bunch of graduate students in social and ethnic study department in my alma mater became UAW a few years back in a membership drive.
Keep that "outsiders gonna hate" attitude up, and watch the world leave you behind.
