assembly line work is as unskilled as fast food. That comparison might offend but it is true. Climbing a scaffold to brick over windows high up, operating a crane on a high rise, trimming out a new court house..skilled. Creating abstractly versus repetitive motions is not a skill. A skill you can start a business with.
Skill... What IS skill...??? Well, it's basically "experience"... Would you rather have your burger & fries done by, someone who worked in that joint for a year...??? or someone who just showed up the day before...??? Now, it certainly isn't rocket science or brain surgery, or even what ever you do for a living, (probably)... BUT, there IS a level of "skill" involved, even just showing up to a dead-end job day after day, what ever that is called, (perseverance)...??? giving up a part of your life to improve another part of your life, IS worth something, (like, maybe, not needing to have 3 of those jobs to make ends meet, Maybe, or, apparently not, to most on here.

they should stop buying UAW built vehicles!! Vote with your wallet fellows show the unskilled workers what they’re really worth!!
Well now, I think I will be banned for this... But what the heck... So, what's next...??? Let's bring back slavery...???
the true sign of someone who has nothing intelligent to say is when they resort to “shock factor” or being overly dramatic.
it leaves no room for a decent debate because it forces us to devolve the conversation to the level you’ve brought it down to. the saying you can’t argue with stupid is true.

but does that perseverance warrant 84k a year plus benefits, that’s the math you have to contend with, when there are workers south of us who can do the same tasks for 7k a year.
The most popular midsize truck sold in the US is already made in Toyota's Baja and Guanajuato plants. The Maverick is made there too. GM and Ram both make 1/2 tons there, and all Ram HDs come from there. The longer this "strike" goes on, the faster production planners and supply chain people at the automakers' HQ start their southern and Far East shift. Count on it.

Well, I guess if we need to reduce it to things just above autonomous body movements, I guess there is a skill level to being potty trained. A skill level to using drugs. A skill level to anything done consciously. Good point. I stand corrected.
23 years of just minimal copay and 4 major surgeries, minimal copays meds minimal. Working for year in prison environment, just a trade off. No windows is a huge thing. My last job was a fork truck and could trip big door openings by driving over trigger's wires. It was a joy for others to see outside day..

You see, I never ever said what "they" are "worth"... What I have always said, is they have the right to try and "better: their situation"... JUST like the CEO betters his /her situation by managing to get a $14,000,000. a year contract... It is really as simple as that, whether they are "worth" what they are getting or what the are asking for is a different matter... You, I, or anyone here, has no say in what they are worth... the only say we have, is whether we buy the truck at the price what FOFD is asking for.it.. If FORD moves every plant to Mexico, well there you are, the workers took a gamble asking for more than realistically possible and they are now un-employed... This talk about people not to have the "right" to be in a Union is IMO taking us right back to the past, a past most do NOT want... JMO Judging by some of the comments after my post about a "forbidden" subject...

I gotta be honest, between your emojis and underlines and capitalization, and the hyperbole, and the jumping around of topics, I can never be sure what you are trying to say. Maybe others have a better handle on understanding you but I am not able to comprehend your writing style.

OK, Keeping it simple... People have a right to ask for what ever they think they are worth, the company has the right to say no, or yea... The people on here only have the right to buy or not buy the truck for the price asked... IMO

The people on here also have the right to opine on the subject, as been done for 46 pages now.
Thread actually makes me sad. There are a lot of bitter people in this world who blame others for their mediocre standard of living. Life isn't fair. You want to have a better life then work for it. Education, training, moving, it can all be a part of it. We are truly blessed with the land of opportunity. No one owes anyone anything. Get off your *** and work for it.
