I like vocational schools. But I wouldn't want to go to a university today. A few years back I watched the most beautiful and intelligent woman I've ever known attend a university in the US. On the first day she learned that she was going to be sexually assaulted, probably from the hundreds of signs insisting it. Then people who really didn't like her became her "friends" and wanted her to do things that she would later regret. Extraordinarily jealous and envious people spent 2 years trying to mess her up. That's just what happens under socialism.
You know, that can happen in high school or even at work. Or in the news, at a bowling alley. So if she were that weak minded, and yes, you can be weak and intelligent, you probably aren't going to make it into life. If you can't even get through college like millions have done, you probably aren't going to make life either. THAT is what happens because people are too weak to live. You want hard living? Even in Israel they have to live under constant fear of a bomb going off or a major Hamas incursion. Fortunately for many of them, they are made of more durable material.

I think you've just given one of the most manipulative and roundabout responses I've ever seen on a forum. Which isn't surprising, considering. A lot of predators and people who misrepresent themselves would call it the same way. Some may even want to project weakness upon others for obvious reasons. Sorry, I recommend against sending a young woman any place designed to compromise her, even despite your advice.

Here it is straight out. She isn't cut out for life. College is not designed to compromise anyone that I know of. IDK about you but I have been to college. My wife has been to colleges overseas and here. The manipulators there are amateurs compared to what is out there in the post college world. If the amateurs there can get to a person that badly, they aren't making it in the world unless they toughen up.
College diplomas have one HUGE advantage. They open doors that are otherwise closed. Right or wrong, that is a fact of life.
Glad your response doesn't seem to come with any drool, Randy. Thanks for making a decent point. I am not sure I completely agree now that university diplomas are subsidized. But my father would have agreed with you, so you get some points. By the way he went through medical school, entered residency, and quit medicine because he knew better.

And just like Comedy, Timing is everything
Back in the early 80's, quite a few buddies did the collage route then after loosing a year to attain ' Party Experience '
around 85-86 the most frequent line they heard was " Over Qualified " in their job searches.
I wanted a break from the structured class environment and went into the work force, it was not long I found out
that Collage was an expensive way to be unemployed.
Based on what I've seen and had to deal with in the past few decades, I'm not surprised why people won't pay their
school loans back, seems the only thing they have retained is a nasty case of entitlement and most seem to have missed
the ' Work Ethic ' class
It's not the one and done, it's about the price hikes over and over and over again that you seem perfectly fine with.
$16-17 a month is nothing....but a $10-15k jump in a 5-6 year period isn't nothing.
I'm not disagreeing with you about the price of vehicle shooting up and up and up.
But I'm trying to stay in the text of the conversation of the strike. Ford CFO says the deal with UAW will only add less than a 1000.00 to the price of a truck. That is less than 1% of of some stickers as it is already.
Many here we're claiming thousands, thousands of dollars would be added to cover the cost. That is the reference to crying I was referring to.

This guy ^ falls right into illusionary truths. It's very sad.

If my '24 goes up $1k more due to this, I will not accept it on principle alone.

We are already several years into these price increases you speak of well before any current tentative bargaining agreement. Ford doesn't need a new labor agreement to continue that practice.
