Uh huh. What happens when it's too large, too unique, and too complicated to be able to balance? In that case the real problem may be the size, uniqueness, and complication. At very least maybe these things aren't givens that must be overlooked. Maybe therein lies some waste or some optimizations Ford really needs to make so this situation doesn't persist. If that's true I'm sure there will be a lot of hand waving and insulting.
What you are suggesting has worked very well for both companies and employees down south in the steel industry.
These union workers in the UAW wouldn't know a real job if it fell on them. They demand a 32 hour work week but 40 hour pay. They work inside a factory doing a simple freaking job. Put them on a construction crew building a house out in the weather, 10 hour day 5-6 days a week. Then come back and complain. Construction unions have a real beef when they go on strike, not these panty waists. Put them on a highway crew ripping out and replacing asphalt for an 8 hour shift in the heat and sun. There are some jobs where the Union does a good job so workers are treated fairly and well compensated, then there are unions who make demands for worker who have some of the easiest jobs you can find.
If they put as much effort on the factory floor as they do picketing, maybe they might be worth it. maybe
I guess the Louisville truck plant is going on strike.
They really want Ford to commit to giving them the battery plant work, plants that haven't even been built yet....at what point is this considered extortion?

the ccp dont want to pay those high wages for remedial jobs.
Hope this dismantles the uaw, or at least cripples them with the public bud light style. To extort such demands going into an economic nightmare is ignorant…
but inflation…ok, when inflation gets annihilated will you be ok with a reverse adjustment? No? Good, heres your layoff papers.

Glad I have never, am not and will never be in a union place. I don't need to worry about strikes.
thing is ky is right to work state, not a union state. If the uaw body was removed and workers were paid the remainder of what the uaw gobble up they would be ahead a lot. The uaw is making a mistake right now. Too much at the worst time.
my kid is non union semi driver that delivers to the plant all day. Might have to otr. His wife was a temp at ford but because of uaw was kept as temp, her dad is like a 30 year vet at the truck plant and it didnt matter.
kinda glad i decided to keep my truck as i trade every 2-ish years. Wouldn’t want it dangling there on the line and then picked back up from the wait, I’d have canceled if it were the case. These trucks have enough glitches without this crap.
