Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Just getting home from the reunion. Started raining around 1600 this afternoon. Fortunately, the reunion committee had the foresight to put up the big party style dining canopies and the displays and chow line were on a covered porch.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 53.5 and overcast with rain in the forecast.
Heading up to Bravo Compound this morning and moving some stuff, like hunting gear so the tarps will be coming out. Warden wants to move a couple pieces of furniture. One of those is a little antique wood and glass display case with some stained glass we got from my paternal great grandmother via 'granny'. I don't think the furniture or cabinets is going to make the trip today. We'll have to do that on a day when there is no chance of running into rain. I also have a bunch of hunting gear and equipment to get moved up there today as well.
Trip check cams are showing overcast but dry all the way currently.
Rained most of the way from Alpha to Bravo Compound. We have to go into Bend tomorrow for a VA VES appointment. We are going to take the pickup and bring back a ton of wood pellets. That had ought to be a delight for my back!

Other than showing signs of extended upper ‘middle’ age, I’m great. I have to go into Bend tomorrow for another VA screening and evaluation on PTSD, Ears, Back, Agent Orange, Cancer and ????? I think they are trying to figure out if they need to use Gorilla Super Glue or 3M spray adhesive to hold me together. It’s a good thing we have this place so we don’t need a Motel Room or???
The Warden, on the other hand has me a little worried. She’s still battling Valley Fever and the side effects of that. We have follow ups with two different specialists in regards to that between now and Oct 3. We are waiting on results of a couple of biopsies of what we think may be acute Valley Fever rashes that have been breaking out.
Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Rain and 30 to 50 MPH winds today. There had been a prediction for snow and 25°. Three out of the next four nights are supposed to get down to 25-28-24°.but the snow prediction has been dropped. Welcome to fall in the High Cascades of Central Oregon.
Got some stuff done in the Pole Barn and the pickup unloaded. Disconnected the irrigation pump, got the pump and lines all drained and pulled the intake and screens out of the pond. Shut down the Rainbird system for the yard and threw the Circuit Breakers for the whole kit 'n kaboodle just as an added precaution. At least that part is ready for winter. Well house is tomorrow morning. Not much there except to plug in a heater that will keep the pressure tank and the pump lines above ground above freezing.,
Have to go in for a VA appointment tomorrow for an 'independent' evaluation / re-evaluation to confirm that I'm still breathing so I can still get the disability part of the pension. It would sure be the pits if they decide I'm not breathing and give the paycheck to my wife.
Thursday night we head back to the Western Alpha Compound. The Warden has a doctor's appointment first thing Friday morning. She had biopsies taken from both arms, and it's time to get the stiches out. They don't think the results of the biopsies will be back yet, but we'll see.
Saturday morning we'll be going to the 35th Annual International Air Show in McMinnville. The Blue Angels will be flying along with F15 Eagles and an F35 from the Demonstration Wing. They flew one last year and it was nearly as exciting as the Thunderbirds were.
Sunday morning we will head back to Bravo Compound with a load. Then it will be time to load the camper and get ready for a deer and an elk hunt (along with som grouse hunting on the side) that my partners and I drew a special tag for. We did the hunt 2 years ago but didn't draw an elk tag. This year we have both. Mostly no cell phone, no internet territory. I have a Garmin Montana 700i so can communicate with text messages and an SOS via Satellite. It's kind of like an EPIRB. The text messaging feature keeps the Warden happy and me in the field. It sends a lat-lon and a map of where the message originated from so it is wise not to send the message from a bar in Joseph or Enterprise.
Good Evening Ford Drivers'.
I'm feeling much better this evening.
Brass terminals last a lot longer than the aluminum ones.
Chris, have you tried liberal applications of dielectric grease with perhaps a reapplication every other month? Works great in the sparkplug boots as well.
Good Tuesday morning Ford Drivers.
Jim I've tried a bunch of stuff in the distributor cap, nothing seems to work for long. When the van starts idling ruff I change the cap, if I wait to long after the ruff idle it won't start....
