Nicely done...........Was that fun getting it out by yourself?
Oh yes, it was a blast! Game cart and pack board & two trips. 69-3/4 is a hell of a long ways from 35!
Spent half the day today in the field looking for deer and the other half running the bear hide into Lewiston Idaho which is ply 60 miles from camp. I couldn’t find a single Taxidermist in Oregon that would take the bear hide or that would but told me it would be ruined before I got it to them. One in LaGrande I called gave me a referral to Clark’s Taxidermy in Lewiston. They took it and said I did a good job preserving it and skinning it out. Couldn’t understand why they told me it would spoil within 3 to 5 days as long as it was iced and kept dry out of the ice melt. Exposed to the warm temps we’ve had, then yes it would not have been any good.
Got back from Idaho in plenty of time for an evening hunt. No deer but found two big branch bulls. Hope they are still around on Nov 1.
Back to camp for Chili dogs and a movie. Thought I would treat myself tonight. Wind and rain went full force just as I was getting out of the woods a bit ago. Looking like quite a night.
Yip, usually I do it at work between listening to voice mail and reading emails. But got on the computer at home today as I didn't feel like watching the news or reading.
