We'll see. Small country towns can be rather quiet and boring. We usually have a few "Washington" or "Idaho" fireworks, but since I want to get some pictures of them, they probably won't shoot any off. We also seem to have some increased YCSO patrols tonight.
I just checked the cloud cover and as long as nothing moves in it should be pretty clear.
So........lots of boomers and some pretty heavy ones at that, along with a lot of light weight stuff but very little on the way of light shows. Took some stills of a bright smoker.....
Good New Year's Day Ford Drivers.
Someone a block away fires of some stuff that you hear leaving the launch tube..............and BOOM!!!!!!
One of these days I'm going to find them and Renee will on here passing the virtual hat.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Back from the duck pond. Started out at 31 and we are up to 35.9 now. Very light marine layer overhead burning off to blue sky with a few scattered heavier clouds.
We had some pretty heavy window rattlers. We could hear a few mortar launched air bursts. Nothing really close, but a few of the ground explosions and some airborne blasts certainly did rattle the molars as well as the windows.
Some people not too far from our place usually have a pretty interesting "show" every New Years. This year they had nothing going on, not even the partying that usually takes place. Perhaps they feel they have been just a little too much on the Sheriff's Office list of "favorite" places to visit..
We've heard that their July 4th exhibition is pretty wild as well although we are never home to see it.
Ha! I found ya’ll. Last day at the home retreat to acquire some shop time. What are you guys up to?
Not much except working on getting a headache. Flew the drone over our flooded YCSA facility and over the house on New Years Eve. Flew it over a buddy's house getting some aerial pictures of his place that he wanted for wall hangers as well as property documentation.
Gave up duck hunting this morning to try and get our June - July Diamond Lake reservations at Thielsen View Campground worked out.
Dec. 27th was the first day of our 6 month "window" to make reservations at "our" campsite. Pretty sure I got swatted by a computer bot. A bunch of weird stuff went on as I hit the "add to cart" link. Anyway, we secured a site just a couple of sites away for 5 days and right across the road from where our "adopted" Roseburg / Green District family were able to reserve a site.
Haven't got it fully figured out yet but our site got snatched out from under us during the reservation process and who or whatever got it, took it for the full 14 days. Then a few hours later I noticed the 14 days were reduced to just 5 days. Under normal circumstances, the reservation system won't let you modify or cancel your reservation until 2 days after the last day of the block you reserved. So, whatever reserved "our" site should not have been able to change it to 5 days until January 13th or 14th.
Anyway, site 13 had been modified from 14 back to 5 days, so I was able to get in this morning and ****** it up from the 2nd thru the 11th. So we'll be in 11 from the 27th to the 2nd and 13 from 2nd through the 11th, leaving for home on the 11th.
Morning all, went for a hike yesterday and found a man who committed suicide on the trail with a shotgun. Took the sheriffs about 45 min. to show up so I was having to direct others to use another trail to go around the area. Had the wife and dog with me. My wife is still real shook up about it. Had her go up to the parking lot and wait for the sheriffs with the dog while I kept the scene secured.
Good morning and Happy belated New Year. My parents flew out from Oregon for the past week and are headed back tomorrow. It's been great getting to see them and they'd loved spending time with the grandkids and meeting the new dogs. I was able to put together a project I've been wanting to put together, making this old piece of woodpecker log I found a few years ago into a euro mount base. The spike was my first archery buck, and I plan to add on my future archery bucks as I go.
I have fond memories of making sausage with my dad when I was a kid, so we made 12 pounds of sage breakfast sausage with my boys helping out.
Good morning Oregon and everyone everywhere else. 39 and rain showers.

That's horrific and a traumatic event.
One of the calls I hated going on.
Ironically, I have a meeting at 1500 this afternoon with the Yamhill County Suicide Prevention Coordinator and OFSC Coordinator.
